Especially for transposing harsh lowmids to more low frequencies FI Humming bass guitars causing that harsh sound in the mid low range can be taken care of in this way i think. + the overall sound gets more body! Bandpass for the frequency range you want to have lower harmonics for highpass to limit the lowest frequency. just brainstorming
