We are using Stereo Tool for FM processing, and using the Normal Output for web streaming. The recently added "separately processed streaming output" is really useful to avoid FM pre+deemphasis for streaming. However, it would be really useful to be able to control the loudness (clipper drive) for the separately processed streaming output, independent from the FM loudness/clipper drive setting... As we don't need quite as loud a signal for web streaming - it would be great to be able to "open up" the sound a bit for the web stream. |

Hi..However, it would be really useful to be able to control the loudness (clipper drive) for the separately processed streaming output, independent from the FM loudness/clipper drive setting... As we don't need quite as loud a signal for web streaming - it would be great to be able to "open up" the sound a bit for the web stream. That filter uses much cpu, especially for FM (and if composite is used). So you would have minimum 50% more cpu load in that case. However, you can always run 2 STs on same PC. |

Actually, I'm already clipping twice in this situation so it wouldn't affect the cpu load. There is a related request somewhere from someone who asked to make certain settings available separately for fm and non-fm use, such as the lowpass frequency, which would make it easier to create a single preset that's usable for both. I have to check which settings need to be duplicated for this - once I have the settings available this is easy. |
