I'll begin by stating that I have been using ST for a couple months now. After enjoying the sound that it gives to my collection I broke down and purchased a license to support it. I'm still a novice home user but love the quality that it gives to my music. I recently dumped Winamp as my audio player on moved over to MediaMonkey as I can use it to play and manage my entire digital collection. I use ST as my audio processing plugin of course. I have one thing that has been bugging me that I have not been able to find a solution to. When playing audio the audio I hear does not appear to be even closely synchronized to the display in ST. The progress bar on MM is okay, when it reaches the end of the bar it is the end of the song. However in ST the audio display appears to indicate that the song is done playing 13-15 seconds before it really is. I'm sure this must be some type of buffering but from what I've read any buffering that ST is doing is in the ms range. I'm stumped at this point. I haven't been able to find settings in ST or MM that would add up to this much of a delay. It is like ST is 15 seconds into the future. It would be nice to have them closer in sync so when something is clipping for example you can more closely know where it is. Any ideas from experienced ST users? |

Must be a buffer in MM. Stereo Tool can delay the display by a few seconds (I think upto 5), but the audio is sent out immediately when it arrives (delay is below 100 ms). |

I'll contact the authors of MediaMonkey and see if they can shed any light onto what might be happening. I do know Winamp didn't have as large of a delay. |
