I am running the Juli@ XTe cards.

When I go through the tilt setting procedure with Sine wave the card is set to be +4 out. When I then switch it to Square wave it goes up to +7.1 but a very nice clean Square wave. When I go to Smooth Square I have tilt on the leading and trailing edges of the wave (at about +6.8 or so).

Which one do I line up with Square or Rounded Square?

I watched the video and it seemed you only switched to rounded square as you said square was insanely loud on air. I am doing it into a 1 Watt lab unit so I am only annoying myself with the tones.

After calibration you should see the same numbers for square and sine wave. Even with my built-in laptop sound card I can get it flat (within 2%) down to about 15 Hz square wave. Which frequency square wave are you using?

Can you check that the peak level is the same for sine waves at - say - 30 Hz, 1000 Hz and 60 kHz?

And +4, is that dBs? Or peak modulation? (so +4 = 79, +7 = 82)?

Sorry for the slight confusion; I was measuring the output of the card with an oscilloscope so it was +4dBm.

I just did a sweep of the card using the Tilt section of ST as the source and these are a few results from it:

(Square wave level with sine wave at +4dBm reference in brackets)

1kHz Sine wave set output to +4dBm (+7dBm)

From 10Hz to 30Hz = +4.1dBm (+6.9dBm)

From 30Hz to 17,220Hz = +4dBm (+6.9dBm)

From 17,220Hz to 43,000Hz = +3.7dBm (6.9dBm)

From 43000Hz to 60,000Hz = +3.5dBm (6.9dBm)

So from 20Hz to 60kHz card is flat to less than 1dB

The output level scopes on stereo tool do change level between Sine or Square wave.

I'll check it on my laptop and see what results I get on its inbuilt card.

And this is with or without calibration?
