That may be the issue, as it is present in the program files as well as in the download files. Is one place preferred over the other for best operation and rebooting? Here's my self-inflicted mess...

AT LONG LAST, I have a MT sound card on its way! In the interim, I want to upgrade from 7.31 to 7.4, but something is amiss. I download 7.4 and install it... but the screen shows version 7.31 and I am seeing what appears to be audio feedback on the screen! If I restart the program, the feedback goes away but it still says "Stereo Tool 7.31". Do I have to uninstall 31 or does the new version overwrite this? I am really looking forward to getting this back on the air. The Optimod sounds very lame by comparison! |

It overwrites old instalation, meaning you did't install to original place and you use old shourtcut. |

Correct, it's just a single file - if you have installed it at the same place as before then the old version is no longer there. |

If you run the installer it should overwrite the one in Program Files. (Which looks quite old indeed). For the behavior it doesn't matter where you place it - but Program Files the normal place for installing something. |

That's what I normally do but it helps to hear it from the Master! The MT card will be here Monday, so I'll do a little cleanup work. |

All fixed! Even pinned it to the "startup" menu so it comes on all by itself!! |
