In case you were wondering why it has been so quiet here the last week: I've been working on updating the help pages. The new help setup is not yet completely finished, there are some gaps here and there and the index page looks bad, but there's so much extra information present now that was never available before (except scattered through the forums) that I decided to not wait any longer and just post the link here: http://help.stereotool.com/7.40/ Enjoy! |

Yea that's why I postponed it for 4 years. This must be the single most boring thing that I have done in the last 2 years. Now I understand why professional text writers charge between 60 and 90 euro (multiply by 1.3 for $) per hour - it's so boring that nobody would want to do it for less ![]() ![]() |

Help has been updated and I think it's complete now. I've also improved readability. I should probably re-read everything and clean stuff up, but at least every control has a description now. |

Quote: Block size
Does this mean the RMS computation isn't gated, i.e. it uses all samples, even silent ones, instead of taking just the loudest ones, say the top 10dB?
Adjust the RMS measurement block size. With a smaller block size, staccato-sounds are better adjusted in level - the volume is lowered more (the silence is more or less ignored) which better corresponds to how human hearing works. |

Help Welcome! As you say at least all controls have their description, but in some cases may be missing some more description or some detail. For example, in the section Detection Compressor says: "Feedback Chooses Between feed forward and feedback mode. " But it is not clear when one or the other. I will keep reading and if I see any place where missing some more detail, you notice. One suggestion, you could put all the help in the type and PDF document that can be downloaded. ![]() |
