In the last week I've been working on a complete redesign of Natural Dynamics - the filter that some people really seemed to like but had both an insanely high CPU load and caused many artifacts.

What it does: Natural Dynamics boosts dynamics in recordings, and it tries to boost only "punchy" sounds (like drum kicks, hi-hats etc.). This means that in compressed music - but in fact, in almost all music - it makes music sound much more vivid.

I will post a description of what the different sliders do tomorrow; for now you can test the default settings and see if you like it.

Natural Dynamics is now always visible - you no longer need to use the 'hack' to turn it on. (You CAN still use it to enable the old implementation, which will be removed soon).

Windows stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 25-001.exe
Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 25-001.exe
Windows VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 25-001.dll

Note: Be careful with this! Several people (including myself) have already experienced that after listening to music that's processed with Natural Dynamics, you get used to the dynamics - and if you turn on an FM station afterwards it sounds really bad.

If you use Natural Dynamics and no other processing, the effect on the sound is huge. If you turn it on in existing presets, the effect is much more subtle - but the audio really opens up.

Natural Dynamics needs a Declipper license (I'm not sure if I'll keep it that way but for now it does), however if you don't have a declipper license you won't get beeps every minute - just a spoken message as with the Advanced Clipper or FM features. It works best with the declipper enabled! (That's why I'm thinking of bundling them, I need to put it in somewhere...)

I warned them this would happen. Welcome to the last 3 years of my listening life. It gets "worse" too hehe.

Oops! Forgot to upload them! They are there now.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I need to add some smoothing to make the very sudden start less sudden (too harsh). Will do that today.

How can I see this 'warning'? The sound is so nice, that you will not listen to other stations any more? I didn't test ND yet, so I have no idea how it sounds. With the other processing functions enabled the loudness is fine with composite clipper?

It's time to switch on my test computer and hear myself :D

This is how Natural Dynamics comes up for me:

Ow, there's a bug in the GUI code. For now, set the GUI mode to 'Extreme Tweaker' (under Configuration) and it works.

:o <- This was my face when I disabled ND after listening to it for a while. Man, this is awesome! :)

My buffer keeps emptying on FM Output even though the CPU load is quite good :(

How do I switch the Extreme Tweaker on and off?I cannot hear any difference when I have extreme Tweaker interface showing and the meters are moving.I think I must be doing something wrong.
cheers.
