Stereo Tool 7.20 is released!

For the new composite clipper, you need a license upgrade. Go here: http://register.stereotool.com/ to get one.
I will send out an email to all users in a few days about this upgrade, then after about a week I'll remove it (meaning that from that moment on you pay the normal upgrade price).

Changes:
FM: Added composite clipper!
FM: Added SSB (Single Side Band) mode. (Requires composite clipper.)
FM: Added Multipath clipper. (Experimental! Requires composite clipper.)
Loudness: Improved Airy Highs. Highs now sound crisper and less 'tonal'.
Loudness: Rewrite clipper to reduce CPU load (Strictness can be set lower to give similar results).
Added Phase equalizer.
Updated and added many presets.

Missed my update to Cobalt...although it was posted very late due to power issues yesterday.

I´ve tried many audio processors/compressors including Waves,Izotope,T -Racks etc etc,,the one I always come back to is Stereo Tool. Many of the presets are outstanding. It depends very much on the mix and type of audio as to which preset will work best.2 presets for that track that worked best were GPagliaroli impact.0.94 and Bojchas Neodymium.I opted for GPagliaroli impact.0.94 because the vocal had less "airy highs"
Thanks for the work you guys put into it.The microphone I used on the vocal was a Rode NT2-A.

all the best.Rob ;)

Thanks for appreciating subtleties that are often not appreciated in the "Loudness War" 8-)

For Dutch FM users: I've been looking today at a new Stokkemask clipper (to others: This is only for the Dutch FM market). I think I have something that sounds much better, but I'm getting weird clicks in the audio again, and I'm not 100% sure if it's compliant (I think it is though) - will try to fix it in the next few days.

Reason for this: The Stokkemask clipper has a pretty bad effect on the composite signal: It sounds worse, spikes get higher, and the CPU load is higher.

What is a composite clipper? And what are the pros and cons of it?

It's a different type of clipping for FM, that takes several FM features into account - leading to higher output levels and a better sound quality. Especially the highs are much better with it.
