Long term been using ST-SA with MPXTool for testing. ST-SA FM output > Breakaway Pipeline 2 (192 kHz) > MPXTool. No problem - always works well. To test the new new FM sync feature available in the DSP version, I'm now trying to get the Winamp/DSP version working. ST-DSP FM output > Breakaway Pipeline 2 (192 kHz) > MPXTool. But doing this, I can't get a clean signal into MPXTool. Stereo and RDS are there, but there are audible whistles and broad rubbish everywhere (no pilot protection visible etc) on the MPXTool SpecAn display. "Send To Winamp" is set to Nothing. Tested with last ST beta and 6.32 release, XPSP3, Winamp 5.621 Am I missing an obvious step/setting in Winamp or ST-DSP? Thanks. |

Most likely: you're playing 44.1 kHz audio in Winamp, and then Stereo Tool will send 176.4 kHz audio and if you send that to VAC then a very very bad resampling algorithm in Windows will convert it to 192 if VAC is set to 192 kHz. So, if that's indeed the case, you need to set VAC to 176.4 kHz as well. Alternative (but doesn't really fit your noise description): Breakaway cables require Breakaway to be on one of the two sides of the connection, otherwise they add hiss to the audio. Not sure if MpxTool uses the same (licensed) VAC version as Breakaway... |

Thanks Hans - your spot on. Breakaway Pipeline(VAC) default is a range of 44100-192000. Setting it fixed at either 176400 or 192000 solves the problem. Cheers AJ |
