Post subject: | How to achieve more volume |
Hello, i'm using subsonic to stream my music to my phone, laptops etc... At first i just wanted a program to boost the volume because sometimes my phone and the attached headphones are not loud enough. I came across stereotool and set it up to work with subsonic but now i'm wondering if i can actually achieve what i want. I don't want to do any crazy sound processing, just make the tracks louder in general. It that possible? Because the AGC seems to just adjust the volume to the whole track. Make quite part of the song louder and louder parts quieter. That's not what i want, or am i doing something wrong? With Regards, meld0 |

Hit RESET to turn everything off. Then increase the Loudness slider. That's what you need ![]() |

Thank you very very much. Exactly what i was looking for ![]() If i find more time i will do the tutorial and start playing around with it some more. So far it appears to be one hell of a tool. Just 2 more questions if i may. The current linux command line version is only 6.21 any update on 6.30 soon? And while trying it out with MediaMonkey, when i changed some options in Stereotool it always took a while to be reflected in the sound. Is it supposed to be like that, or should i switch to winamp ? Thanks for all your help meld0 |

Ow, I built that version (6.30) just before I left to Las Vegas for the National Association of Broadcasters convention, and I know that something went wrong when uploading the Linux versions but I didn't have time to look into it back then and I forgot about it later... About the delay: Probably this is the audio buffer of the player. You can probably change that in the player settings. In Winamp this is by default 2 seconds. |

You could probably just have an aggressive setting for the multiband compression, and then turn on "simple clipper" and turn up the output level until. You could even just use the singleband compressor if you know what you're doing.
