First time poster who is immensely satisfied with Stereo-Tool, blows Airomate out of the water for sure. One feature missing though seems to be RT+, I use my Zune HD to test RDBS output and would love to allow listeners to be able to tag their songs on their Zune, iPods, car stereos etc. Is there a way I can implement it myself or is this a feature being worked on? Thanks for your time and love the software! |

I have read about that in the past and I do want to implement it at some point. Only at this moment there are other things that have a much higher priority, so don't expect it any time soon. |

Simply replying in this post because making a new topic on it would be pointless. With the new version of Stereo Tool on the way, perhaps RT+ can be made part of it? There is plenty of documentation available and it would be hugely welcome. I have all the equipment needed to test it if that is an issue. I did attempt to set it up in GNURadio, however the source code was over 3 years old and incomparable. I am more than willing to test this for you. Anyway, just in case, here is some documentation as well: http://tech.ebu.ch/docs/techreview/trev ... iotext.pdf http://www.radioworld.com/article/let%E ... 99-/212227 http://www.rds.org.uk/2010/RTPlus-Promotion.htm The below picture shows what it looks like. (Not my station, and it is on an HD station but the Title/Artist info looks the same for both HD and regular RDBS on my Zune HD) ![]() Also the output on an iPod Nano, showing the full Radiotext as well as tagging output/ ![]() Several smart-phones are starting to implement FM radios with RDS/ODA capabilities, as are most cars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVIP_GobZIs |

http://tech.ebu.ch/docs/techreview/trev ... iotext.pdf Hm, there are a few extra bits that are not present in normal RDS blocks. CB and SCB are new. Also, the toggle bit needs info because it needs to know when a new track starts. Most importantly, I think RT+ doesn't support multiple RT texts - so the RT text must always be the same, only the track name should be filled in. So "You're listening to Weird Titan Radio/Now playing Paul Elstak - Ik Haat Je" wouldn't work because the text at the indicated position would appear and disappear all the time. So it will be a bit tricky. I could check when the text changes and flip the toggle bit when that happens. In the input field, things could be defined as - for example - \+A{Artist name} \+T{Title}, or potentially (since there are so many classes) with numbers: \+31{Artist name} (No idea if that number is correct, I just typed something). Which leaves CB and SCB. I'll have to read the official specification to see if I'm missing anything, and WHEN these values need to be transmitted. |

Good to hear, again I am more than willing to be a tester for this code if you need it. My low power setup works very well with radiotext as it is. |
