Web/Home preset "Bangkok" - Lazy to write, in short, keeping dynamic, loudness, openess, originality .. Use latest beta, Turn on De-Clipper if you need, Do not turn off phase rotator - it is anyway minimally used! Preset is still in testig phase, so tell me if you hear something strange. Attachment:
edit:Major update - bit lower volume - Bass (new way) Attachment:

Hi Bojcha, I heard the preset, I liked, but I think there are some details to improve (at least for my taste). Clipping too low in MB (not much) and much in the Loudness filter, this makes the music that has a lot of deep bass sound presence in some artifacts. I also noticed that in vocal music is a bit of distortions in the mids, perhaps due to clipping in the MB in frequency mids. It is an opinion, you can take it or not. Regards, ![]() |

tnx for reply... whatever distortion you hear on mids it's not because MB and not MB clippers. Bass Clip in mb is "must" for this preset... to control bass as much as possible to not go over certain level. There is no other way to intercept bass kicks and to not let them go into main clippers! Also mb clippers (for bass) are not so ideal and i can't do anything about that. Bassy track will not sound so bassy, since this preset should maintain consistency in both volume and frequency. Again i also make it to be as much as possible as original. |

...when you play at this level there's no ordinary venue, it's Iceland or the Philippines or Hastings or... or this place... ! ![]() |

According to the clippers for bass in the MB are not ideal. There is no other way to intercept bass kicks and to not let them go into main clippers! Also mb clippers (for bass) are not so ideal and i can't do anything about that. So in trying to avoid the preset, a good option is to use the Bass AGC, so that only acts in the presence of unusual low and that action is not too fast to keep the dynamics. And make the remaining signal during the transient, is absorbed by MB, Limiter and Loudness, until stable. For the latter, it would be nice to have instead of a single compressor, a dual compressor to absorb the remainder with it without changing the rest of the signal. In my last preset I made this way. Open to discuss the issue. ![]() |

In new version bass is totally different! So still not good? Acording to my kick-bass tracks it's cleanest bass compared with any preset i heard so far! Maybe most extreme tack is first few seconds from "DBN - Jack is Back". It very easy goes into clip and everything must be perfectly tuned to sound as much as possible as original but to still be slightly clipped (it must, otherwise you'll don't have bass in 'normal' tracks. Plus, At start of the track only bass kicks, so if AGC's 2nd band goes to high, it will make bass more dirty. Also if MB is with bigger range, again bass goes dirty.. so, all must be gently tuned - but also to feet other tracks. For Dual-Band Compressor after MB i totally agree. Even better... Singleband with ratio, thresh, and stuff AND with sidechained peq ![]() Bass-Agc cannot do the job! Since it's not intended to be clipper, compressor, or limiter. Also it acts from 0-800kHz slope to 0. Hmm.. i don't know why 800, should be to 200 or 250. btw, v6.22 beta28 (standalone) has bug. beta27 is ok. |

Now I like! The bass sound good, with great force. ![]() Quote: For Dual-Band Compressor after MB i totally agree. Even better... Singleband with ratio, thresh, and stuff AND with sidechained peq
ohh! if a side chained compressor peq, it would be good. This should be on the wish list! ![]() ![]() Quote: Bass-Agc cannot do the job! Since it's not intended to be clipper, compressor, or limiter. Also it acts from 0-800kHz slope to 0. Hmm.. i don't know why 800, should be to 200 or 250.
Hans should fix this, I do not know, or at least put a slider to choose the cutoff frequency, but I agree at 200-250 Hz (not kHz) no more. You should hear my preset Storm v3, and give me an opinion on this application.Quote: btw, v6.22 beta28 (standalone) has bug. beta27 is ok.
That error?

I already reported this 2 bugs to Hans and he expressly fixed it in beta29... Now Bass AGC is matched with Loudness internal bass clipper (0-150 and rise to 200Hz) |
