Can you tell me more about the following settings

• Strictness (CPU) - does this have much of any effect now?
• Stronger clipping - again, does this have much of an effect?
• TWO STEPS - what exactly does this do?
• Deep bass boost - what are the frequencies boosted, and by what amount / what does the percentage mean?
• Very deep bass distortion protection - what exactly does this do, and how does it relate to the Maximum bass amplitude in the Improved bass distortion protection section? Also, what frequencies does it operate on / what is the difference between "very deep" here and the "deep bass boost"?

Not sure what the --||-- is supposed to be... Ditto? The reason I asked is because I really can't tell much of a difference. I don't have / use special tools, only my ears, and very rarely, Breakaway RTA.

As for the deep bass boost and very deep bass distortion protection, has the HPF situation been improved? From what I remember, it is not steep enough and I think I remember that you or some other people were wanting a double HPF.

To check strictness, turn hard limit off and lower post amp a bit. At lower strictness settings you'll see more overshoots, especially for 'difficult' sound (try 5:17 in the torture test for example).

Stronger clipping also decreases overshoots, but by sacrificing some quality.

Two steps performs an extra protection step after the deep.bass boost. Not really needed anymore I think...
