Combining a bigger overlap between FFT's (75% instead of 50%, Breakaway does this too and this is also the improvement that I posted earlier which would get rid of many of the artifacts). - This will double the CPU load...

Maybe combining this with bigger FFT sizes also to remove even more artifacts. This will also almost double the CPU load...

Alternative: Find a way to predict and remove artifacts WITHOUT using such overlaps. (That should be possible!)

So, are you suggesting a doubling or quadrupling of the CPU load? :?

Some questions about overlap and/vs CPU usage:

In Leif's presentation of Omnia.9, processor inside box is Core2Quad, i guess something like Q9xxx, and runing at 50%. With very well spreaded threads to 4 cores even that is not enough and final box will have i7!

So question about CPU usage answers itself. Duble overlap in ST will still have less CPU usage thant Software in Omnia.9.
But theres 2 more things. Declipper (undo) and MPX clipper, which i think takes big part of CPU usage.
