Hello everyone,

First of all, I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has taken the time to help me, whether here on the forum or privately.

Some of the feedback I have received has sometimes been very direct, but it has always been useful and interesting. And I would like to thank in advance anyone willing to give me their opinion on this new preset, even if it is negative, because that is often how we learn the most.

You may have noticed that my previous topic has disappeared. I actually asked to remove it because, to be completely honest, I was a little ashamed of how badly I had managed to massacre a preset along the way!

So here I am again with this new discussion and, hopefully, a little more experience.

After about 18 months of experimenting with Stereo Tool, I have also finally understood something very important: trying to turn my little €50 Trust gaming speakers into Bose, Cabasse or Genelec monitors through audio processing was probably a very bad idea! LOL

Thanks to all the advice and feedback I have received, I have now equipped myself with a pair of professional headphones, and I am trying to work in a more balanced and methodical way.

I am attaching my latest preset, LOOM Radio V3.36E, which I believe is probably the most accomplished and balanced version of my work so far.

However, I can still hear several things that I would like to improve. I feel that I am still missing a little more depth and sustain in the sub-bass, a little more air and openness, perhaps greater precision and clarity in the consonants, and probably still a slight graininess or roughness that I would like to smooth out.

In short... the shopping list is still quite long! LOL

But my goal is no longer to achieve maximum loudness. What I am really searching for today is my own sonic signature for LOOM Radio: something warm, deep, airy, immersive and precise, with powerful but controlled sub-bass, clear consonants without aggressiveness, a real sense of space, and a sound that remains comfortable during long listening sessions.

One of my main inspirations is the sound of Fun Radio France in the late 1980s and early 1990s. At that time, the station had a remarkable sonic identity: a warm, wide, immersive, precise and immediately recognisable sound.

Here is an old recording that gives some idea of what I am looking for. The quality of the recording available on SoundCloud is honestly pretty bad, but it still gives a sense of the spirit of that sonic signature:

The other major challenge is that LOOM's musical format is not exactly easy to process consistently. The programming can move from Marvin Gaye – Inner City Blues to Daft Punk – Get Lucky, then to Quincy Jones – Ai No Corrida, Armand Van Helden – You Don't Know Me, A Taste of Honey – Boogie Oogie Oogie, Cantoma – Summer Rain, or to much more airy and textured productions such as De-Phazz – My Society and Doctor Rockit – Café de Flore.

These are productions from completely different eras, with dynamics, spectral balances, densities and bass content that can sometimes be radically different... But this diversity is precisely part of LOOM's DNA, and I do not want to sacrifice it simply to make the audio processing easier.

I remain just a passionate amateur with absolutely no sound-engineering background. I work mainly by ear and, for me, operating Stereo Tool can still sometimes feel like trying to fly a supersonic fighter jet without a pilot's licence! LOL

I would therefore be genuinely grateful for any feedback on this preset: positive, negative, technical, or simply based on your listening impressions. Please don't hesitate to be direct. I am here to learn, and after 18 months with Stereo Tool, I have realised that the more I learn, the more I discover how much I still have to understand.

Thank you again to everyone who has helped me so far, both here on the forum and privately.
