The I/O is in the middle of being rewritten. FFMPEG will be supported for both input and output, so with the right arguments, you should be able to feed it just about anything.
To get audio into their Raspberry Pi, most folks either buy a HiFiBerry HAT to plug into the GPIO pins, or get a USB device/interface that supports the input format they need (TOSlink, Coax, TRS, XLR, etc). But with the new I/O FFMPEG support, I assume STAMP will get streaming input support as well once it comes out.
