Thank you all for your helpful explanations. I have another question.

Currently, the computer running the stereo tool is a standalone machine.

It only runs the stereo tool; no other programs or services are running.

CPU: i9-14900K

64GB RAM

No dedicated graphics card

Using Sound Blaster AE-9 running in FlexASIO.

How can I allocate full CPU resources to the stereo tool?

The current latency setting is 40.7ms, which translates to 124.4ms in ASIO.

Because I'm worried about overclocking,

how can I improve CPU stability settings?

I'm wondering if FlexASIO might be the bottleneck/latency introducer. FlexASIO is a wrapper, if I'm not mistaken, and therefore doesn't take advantage of true ASIO hardware interactions, which your soundcard is not capable of anyway. I think this is one of the reasons why Soundblaster isn't considered a professional brand.

Maybe somebody else more familiar with ASIO can chime in?

It's mostly stable now. Using FlexASIO with the Sound Blaster AE-9 sound card, latency can be reduced and is acceptable. The sound quality is also quite good. What's particularly interesting is that using FlexASIO with only the motherboard's audio functions (Reiltek), latency can be incredibly low (around 100ms and still working normally). However, the sound quality is, of course, not as good as a dedicated sound card. Has anyone else tried this?

My current i9 CPU is set to optimized latency, 2 threads (more threads will increase latency).

Immediately around 38% latency. Audio performance is set to maximum. Input is 48.1khz. Output is 48.1khz. Input volume is kept around -6dB.

Overall, it's much more stable.

Overall, it's much more stable.

Hopefully, there won't be any sudden crackling or burping sounds.
