Hello,
I am in the process of updating the audio from meetings. Only speaking. After some research I found the Perfect Declipper, but if I understand correctly, that is now the Stereo-tool. The problem I have is that there is a lot of clipping in the audio. It's not really relax to listen to the original. I only want to remove the hard bits where the audio clips / is to loud.

I am using Ubuntu 24.04 on my computer, but to experiment with the plugin, I created a virtual machine (VirtualBox) with a Windows setup and installed Audacity and the plugin there. Because the plugin only works in windows.

It does modify my audio, but the cracks, with loud voice, are still there. When I select the audio and use the Thimeo Stereo plugin under effects, I select load the settings and then select I choose under repair; 'Modern recordings, low bitrate MP3/AAC input'. I also tried 'modern recordings'.

The original audio can be found here (2 hours);
https://enkhuizen.notubiz.nl/media/down ... n%20GR.mp4

I see that the waveform has changed. The sound is quieter, but the distortion is still present at moments when the sound is too loud. Can this be corrected? I thought it would be an easy option since it is only speech.

I have no experience with all the tools, and maybe it is do-able what I want, but it takes more steps. I could not find anything for my case, so maybe, this example can help more people who have no experience in audio editing.

Once I have the right settings, I would actually like to do it via the command line on my linux machine. I already tried it like this;
./stereo_tool_cmd_64 input.wav output.wav -k "<serial>" -s stereo-tool-modern-recordings.sts
But the output was not better.
Should this work with the correct STS profile which i can make in the effect settings in the Audacity plugin, and can export? Aren't these the same settings as when I apply the filter in Audacity? It saves me a lot of time/resources if i can get it working like this.

I only have a license for the declipper, including natural dynamics.

Here is a file with the 'modern recordings' settings applied to the first 6 minutes. Total clip is only 10 minutes (original 2+ hours). Last 4 minutes are unedited, so if somebody wants to give it a try.

Thank you
