Post subject:  uMPX decoder on Linux

Just updated an rpi running a uMPX decoder to Bookworm.

I want to be able to use the read-only overlayfs but when enabled, uMPX decoder re-enumerates the ALSA devices and misses the one that was stored in its last configuration. I see this on a live environment and can't do much further testing now but it also occured with a read/write boot.

Is there any way to pin the FM output to the ALSA name rather the ALSA numbers? (the name doesn't change):

card 4: sndrpihifiberry [snd_rpi_hifiberry_dacplus], device 0: HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro HiFi pcm512x-hifi-0 [HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro HiFi pcm512x-hifi-0]

The device changes its card id between 2,3 and 4 .

It's already stored by name, not number. So if the name doesn't change, it should work...

Hi Hans,

indeed I've never encountered the problem again. So consider this resolved. Thanks.
