Im using Loud and clear preset + True Bass / Sub Bass boost + Declipper + Natural Dynamics + Auto EQ Sounds a bit high in treble compared to the unprocessed one. The unprocessed one sounds muddy (almost like AM stations) probably input gain. Should I disable everything except multiband 1, natural dynamics and advanced clipper? This transmitter sounds great but its just too quiet without audio processing. |

Update: with true bass and bass boost off. I noticed more bass than ever! Turn True Bass off if you are bass head and prefer bass. |

Using Arduino you can add composite clippingg to this transmitter. And use stereotool advanced limiter to be loud without clipping too much the MPX signal |

KDST could you possibly elaborate on how to use arduino with a qn8066 transmitter or direct me to where I can find information related to that?Thank you, John |

interesting that arduino can be used to genera rds too, i dont think it will work with icecast relay (rds generated by stereotool + icecast out) but i need to try i like this transmitter, great audio. if you are running online station + FM feed at the same time, you get identical audio on both stream since the fm transmitter option is not needed on stereo for this transmitter. To fix volume level problem: use laptops, setup ssh and tell it to play your icecast relay from the broadcast machine instead of using phones or any low-powered device. Otherwise you get very low audio level. |

yep with dynamics that means the quiet portion of music is still there on air. You can sound like an audiophile-ish or 1980s radio station (pre loudness era) on the dial without expensive rigs. i don't have volume problem when transmitting at -14 lkfs (even on budget receiver, i can listen in streets).this is my setup at tx qn8066 (no arduino) The laptop at tx site is low end 2006 celeron (screen is cracked) running on puppy linux usb (no hdd) the volume was set to highest possible, i simply create an sh script to bring usb0 up, launch dhcpcd (required for network to work) and run mpv on loop at startup (with lxterminal -e) |
