I noticed in the stand alone version that you have included the ability to switch on the TA Flag, however this only seems possible within the "CONFIGURE..." part of the software. I was wondering if you could allow the TA flag to be switched on and off remotely by DTMF tone detection or by command line. I guess that such a solution would work well with software based DTMF decoders such as NCH ToneDet. I'll maybe experiement with your command line version to see if I can get it to work with NCH ToneDet but I hope that your could build a solution in to the stand alone version. |

If you already have software that can detect this tone, the solution described in viewtopic.php?f=16&t=25 should work. I know that this method isn't very user friendly (yet), but it does work. Using this method you can specify a file that Stereo Tool checks 4 times per second for changes in the settings. In short: 1. Save your settings to a .sts file. 2. Add the following lines to that .sts file: [Stereo Tool Dynamic Settings] Poll STS Enabled=1 Poll STS File name=C:\your_sts_changes_file.sts Replace "C:\your_sts_changes_file.sts" by the location where you are going to put a file with your TA setting. 3. Load the .sts file again. 4. To turn TA on (or change any other Stereo Tool setting), create the "C:\your_sts_changes_file.sts" file containing the following lines: [FM Transmitter] RDS TA=1 (0 turns TA off, 1 turns it on) When the Poll STS feature is turned on, Stereo Tool checks if this file has changed 4 times a second. (Changing it within a second might go unnoticed because the time stamp of the file does not change!) Note: The settings when closing Stereo Tool are reloaded the next time you start it, so you only need to do this once. Pressing RESET or selecting/loading another preset turns this feature off. |

Does anyone still do this? So, does it make (a lot of) sense to add tone detection functionality? |

I made a similar request some time ago. In germany we play the so called hinz-triller as in and out tone for traffic announcements. So I'll be great if you could add that. If you need a Hinz-Triller Sample, I could provide you one. |

Uhm. This is weird. You're the 2nd person to mention this Hinz-Triller tone tonight! -> Edit: The other one read your post before I did. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... riller.ogg I found this information: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autofahre ... nz-Triller It shouldn't be too difficult to support this, but the site does mention that it leads to false positives, which turn TA on when you play certain music tracks. |

The false detection is only on some kinds of RDS Encoders who don't do a properly FM Demodulation but only detecting tones at 2350 +/- 123 Hz, or if at the transmission site the HinzTriller is injected without proper notching out 2350 Hz in the music when injecting the sound. If you use a FM Demodulator centered at 2350 Hz and then check in the demodulation the presence of 123 Hz for ~1200ms for TA=1 and ~550ms for TA=0 then it's running smoothly. In use in germany since the 1970s, so a stable technology ![]() I've included an onair sample with weather-report, Hinz On, Traffic Info, Hinz Off and News: http://picosong.com/success/fdd18620231 ... 297a440da/ |
