Using 4096 samples latency, I get crackling (approx. 10 crackles per second) when I load the following presets: With all WEB RADIO STATIONS and all WEB RADIO - USER PRESETS except Laza's Warm & Smooth and SuperH's Low-Bitrate Optimizer. No difference if I use low or high quality settings (or change the clear buffer setting). Obvious it has something to do with the loudness setting, because when I manually reduce it to 1.00x (off) the crackling disapears completely. My own presets with enabled loudness (some with 3.00x) have the same problem, but in a very reduced quantity (approx. 1 crackle every 20 seconds !). Using 2048 samples latency I don't have any crackling at all. My system: Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 2 GB RAM Windows XP pro SP2 Realtek HD Audio (onboard) (Stereo Tool BETA 5.10-3) |

I had forgotten to mention that I use the Stereo Tool DSP version. And another important second information: I use an external DSP host instead of Winamp ! The crackling problem does not appear with Winamp as host. So this is not a problem caused by Stereo Tool. It is introduced by the external DSP host. ![]() |

Ah ok, great! I was already surprised by this. Still, I don't really understand how this can happen (unless the delay of processing 4096 samples is too big, and this DSP host uses a very short buffer - it might help if you can increase that buffer) |
