Post subject: | [DONE] Remaining feature requests after version 5.00 |
In the - very long - "Low latency secondary input (microphone)" thread ( viewtopic.php?f=16&t=853 ), a lot of features have been requested. Some of them seem valueable, but due to a lack of time on my side I haven't implemented them yet. I'm posting the list here as a reminder for future versions. - Add GATING to compressors (stop increasing volume when the input volume gets below a threshold, reduces pumping and very loud volumes after a period of silence). Note: Probably only needed for AGC. ■ DONE - Add Pre-Emphasize for Normal Output (10,15,20,25us), useful for web streaming (?) - "Do you really want to close ..." message in stand alone version ![]() - Enable separate loading and saving of FM calibration settings. ( viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1370 ) - Linux build (see http://www.winehq.org/docs/winelib-guid ... ng-started ) - Hide waveform display. - Check Vlevel (foo_dsp_vlevel.dll) plugin, http://vlevel.sourceforge.net/technical/ - DJ-DOGGY claims that this is a much better pre-limiter. - Stand alone version: Let installer create desktop shortcut After releasing version 5.00, some other features have been requested: - If one of the low frequency Soft Limit sliders is lowered to 0, the audio for multiple low bands drops to 0. To solve this, the multiplication values (1.25, 1.50, 2.00, ...) should be replaced by the max(mult value, something) using the difference between bands - so if there are big differences in Soft Limit slider settings, more difference is allowed to avoid getting silence. ( viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1991&start=10 , top post by eldoradofm) ■ DONE, final check needed before posting - michi95: flickering moving up and down the preset menu (doesn't happen on my pc though... But I know what's causing it and it can be fixed relatively easily). - eldoradofm: When i send a sine tone through the processing chain, i can see the sine tone on your oscilloscopes. But because it isn't triggered it doesn't stand still. When it is triggered it's nicer to look at it and you can see distortion more easy. - Look up how 'triggered' oscilloscopes work - I thought when i select keep composite MPX signal within limits it always stays within the limits. But if i put hard limit off or when i slide post amp above 1.00 it gets over the limits. But when i set the composite limiter to 101% or higher it is kept within limits as far as i can see. Is this a bug? - No, but currently a bit unclear... Maybe add an on/off switch, or clarify otherwise. Using this instead of hard limit gives bad results (disturbing frequencies). Added later: - Set 0.88 equalizer values in FM presets to 1.00. ■ - Reduce equalizer bass level in Bass Boost presets. ■ - Increase default AGC soft limit value to increase multiband processing / make sound warmer and easier for Loudness to process - Maybe add Pre Limiter from v4.22 again to reduce too loud highs. --> Edit: No, add 3rd AGC band. Needs separate up speed/down speed? controls. ■ DONE - Enable selecting negative values for 'allow louder highs'. - Update documentation - FM Output bypass mode Features listed in black have the highest priority. |

Well.. i am waiting this option too, but i think is smart to have it on multiband too.Quote: - Add Pre-Emphasize for Normal Output (10,15,20,25us), useful for web streaming (?)
This will be interesting... using FM output for transmitter at 50us and normal output to e.g 20 or 25us. Can't wait.Quote: - Check Vlevel (foo_dsp_vlevel.dll) plugin, http://vlevel.sourceforge.net/technical/ - DJ-DOGGY claims that this is a much better pre-limiter.
After further testing ... (i replaced ST AGC with VLevel).. i can't tell that this is not so good plugin. i am 99% sure that this plugin works more with "peek level', and makes too much big differences between dynamic and hard clipped songs. Would be much better with RMS control.- Bypass! (FM output) Curently is half-solved bypass when ASIO is used (fm output) but not when is used non-asio. Actualy for FM should be work diferently. If FM Out is used (asio or normal), when bypass is ON.. Pilot, RDS, Preamp and Postamp should only work, so on FM output is only source sound with stereo and rds. |

It's not that simple. Pre-emphasis causes louder peaks, which means that I need something like the final limiter and Hard Limit.

Quote: ahh .. then pre-amp slider should be off (at 1.00), so, i hope, no1 keeps so high input (on edge).
Just try this: Turn everything off, only pre-emphasis on (also pre-emphasize output). Then compare the input and output levels. I think you'll be surprised! Pre-emphasis has MUCH more effect than you might expect.
and/or over that hard Limit ON. |

ye.. i saw that ![]() - 0.50x (-6.00dB) should be good ![]() |

It's maybe not the most pleasant thing to do, but an update of the documentation would be nice. Some new controls aren't exactly explained on your website right now. |
