Phase Linear HPF test continues:

I already said that this Artifact appears in one of combination, when AGC 2-band is ON and PL HPF is ON.

When TWO StereoTools in chain:

1st ST only AGC 2-band ON and 2nd ST HPF is ON .. no artifact.
same but opposite..
1st ST only HPF is ON - 2nd ST only AGC 2-band ON .. still no artifact.

Same as with MB..
1st ST only MB and 2nd ST only HPF = no Artifact
1st ST only HPF ON and 2nd ST only MB ON = NO Artifact

In one ST where MB and HPF are only ON = Artifact always

- 1st ST only HPF ON and 2nd ST only MB ON = NO Artifact --> and on 2nd ST HPF ON .. STILL NO Artifact !
If i turn OFF HPF on 1st ST .. artifact appears.

EDIT:
is it possible to have another same phase-linear HPF before AGC ?
Seems artifact is gone if it's before AGC - in all later filter combinations.
or,
Double stronger Phase-Linear HPF before AGC. without this one before MB.

Yes it's much better if the HPF would be moved.
I think it should be the first filter in the chain right after Pre Amp, but at least before AGC.
EDIT: SHOULD BE AFTER DE-CLIPPER.
Because now when you have loud unwanted sub-bass it will effect the output signal of the AGC in a bad way. But when the HPF is before the AGC you don't have this problem.

But again the filter must also be made a lot stronger. And indeed the best way is probably to recalculate it to be stronger.

From the latest test of Bojcha with 2 stereo tools chained after each other we know there's a real bug now in stereo tool. I hope this bug gets fixed soon.

I think it would be much better to place HPF before AGC.

On top of that, since Phase-Linear is way less strong in lower latencies (2048, 1024, 512), to make Phase-Linear HPF avaliable only in 4096 latency mode.

The artifact bug is around 400 Hz (between 300 and 400) when i check it with SpectraLAB and the test beat from Bojcha. You can see the spectrum moving up and down in a strange way.

Heyyyy,,

Please dont mess with High Pass filter too much becuse DC may happen! :)

Maiby the best solution will be to place 1 high pass filter BEFORE AGC and another second high pass filter after the loudness and keep of course the DC protection after.

I want my FM exciter (pll) staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaableeeeeeeeeeeee :)

All changes that we propose should only make the filtering better, so with a stronger filter i also expect much better behavior for pll transmitters. It's probably not necessary to add another HPF after or before the loudness filter (what would also add more latency), when we get the stronger phase linear filter.

B.t.w. I thought you had sigmacom DDS transmitter which would not have any PLL problems.

I am broadcasting on FM from 2 mountains , with 2 different exciters :(

both analogue and DDS can make car radio recievers to NOT STOP on the radiofrequency if DC or ..very low low deep bass modulation happens :)

We have talked that before, BUT unfortunately it still happens many times on some parts of bassy songs using stereotool

Omnia 6 doesnt cause this
i play at 74 , 75 khz deviation

HPF just CANNOT be after Loudnes/clippers!
Only possible place for HPF is Before MB and/or before AGC

Even now, If you use non-phase linear filter (which is VERY strong at order 8) you should not have problems at 10Hz and less!
Omnia.6 has less stronger HPF then ST's non-phase linear filter at 30Hz/order8.
