Cobalt was mostly updated, but not completely. With the generic preset version, pre-emphasis is still enabled. I do not want that enabled for generic, and it is typically disabled for presets from other people in the Generic section, even if the Web version has it enabled. Also, volume boost in Simple Clipper is set to 120%. Please set it to 95%, as it is in the Web version. 95% takes care of the overshoots. At 120%, the preset still overshoots.

Is it slow saving to file because to many lines for EQ's ?

That doesn't help. But it's mainly caused by the slow Windows API that needs to be called for *every* line. I need to get rid of that, then loading and saving will probably be unnoticeable even on Brians system.

Few questions. I'm trying to make Simple/Basic/Advanced/Extreme views of the Multiband settings.

I know there are probably too many views, I can remove some later. For now I just need to make a logical separation of settings.

In Simple mode, I have a problem with the slider called 'Response slowdown'. The name doesn't make much sense and it feels counter-intuitive: If you move it to the right the sound gets LESS aggressive. However, in other modes, all the attack/release/release hold values are multiplied by this value, so it also doesn't make much sense to invert it. Any ideas?

Then Basic mode. Lots of extra settings are available, per band you can set: Ratio (should probably be in Levels? Or detection?), attack, release, hold, knee (Oops - I see Knee is still available twice!), threshold, gate, limit, band mix.

Advanced mode adds band settings and burst protection (is anyone using Release speedup???)

Expert mode is roughly identical.

Extreme Tweaking adds channel separation, peak vs. rms detection, feedforward vs. feedback and lookahead settings.

I basically need to divide the following things into GUI modes; the problem that I'm having is that once you start playing with one value you probably want to use all the others as well... Any ideas?

Ratio,
attack - Basic
release - Basic
hold,
knee
threshold,
gate,
limit,
band mix - Basic, maybe even Simple
frequency - advanced, expert or extreme tweaker
slope - advanced, expert or extreme tweaker
burst protection on - Advanced
burst protection attack - Extreme Tweaker
burst protection release speedup REMOVE? Otherwise Extreme Tweaker
burst protection relative level - Advanced
burst protection Min drop - Expert
channel separation,
peak vs. rms detection,
feedforward vs. feedback
lookahead time

It should be inverted, and simply called "speed"..
Also that slider, beside pre/post slider, clipper, etc.. should be on "processing" main screen".

Hans, I have difficult question, every band is processed at input sample rate e.g. 44,1kHz?
Yes.

I think less views, would help. I think 3 (Simple or Basic, Advanced and Extreme). :|

Simple or Basic, referred to control the speed (which influences Attack, Hold and Release), Energy or Density (Thresholds, Knee, Peak / RMS Ratio), Mix (Band Mix)
Advance, should be like the Simple or Basic, adding some control to allow some fine adjustments.
Extreme, all available.

Yes.
What do you think about upsampling x2 for last band? I can't imagine good processing on few samples per period...
