Sound from version BETA75 is back: Winamp DSP plugin: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 510-79.exe Stand alone version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 510-79.exe [FAILED DUE TO DISK FULL ERROR - SORRY....] --> For now please use this version instead (if you load a preset or press RESET, 'Filter' is DISABLED instead of ENABLED in this version): http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 10-79A.exe VST version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 510-79.dll VST version (No SSE2): http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 510-79.dll Command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 510-79.exe Linux command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... BETA510-79 (not available) Linux GUI version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... BETA510-79 (not available) QUESTION: - Is the new 'Filter' checkbox needed? If you turn it off the CPU load for Loudness is 5% lower. I went back to the exact same sound as BETA75 due to the complaints - but if this filter isn't needed I'ld rather turn it off (or at least disable it _by default_). |

Well , Hello Hans ... Bojcha Here is the video : http://www.mediafire.com/?l1h4wgknc34gnnu Download and watch : Problem is that filter operation is dependent on input Sample rate .. make it fixed( downasampling ) at 44.100 whatever the input rate is .. and all will be good . Trust Me . Now filter operates at different SR`s and in 192000 is the best option. But in DSP ands VST from where will come 192000 ? In other words : filter must work with fixed SR but to work as is now- STRONG AND GOOD ! I think that SR of filter isn`t affect the work , structure and the most important - Quality of the filter . from 12000 Hz above.... to 15000 Hz "problem" is bigger and bigger. And remember.. filter structure is much stronger than Chebyshev 10th order . Good work boys. I believe that this filter is corresponding to Chebyshev 15th order ...... something like that . |

79 is a good one.Winamp DSP plugin: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 510-79.exe QUESTION: - Is the new 'Filter' checkbox needed? If you turn it off the CPU load for Loudness is 5% lower. Ok, I'm going to check this one... Looks bad! Here is the video : http://www.mediafire.com/?l1h4wgknc34gnnu Download and watch : Problem is that filter operation is dependent on input Sample rate .. make it fixed( downasampling ) at 44.100 whatever the input rate is .. and all will be good . And remember.. filter structure is much stronger than Chebyshev 10th order . Good work boys. I believe that this filter is corresponding to Chebyshev 15th order ...... something like that . Edit: Ok, at both 176400 and 192000 Hz it works perfectly. At lower freqs it doesn't. This must mean that the filter itself is good, but something weird is happening. Will try to find it asap! Edit #2: Found & solved! The filter that upsampled incoming audio to 176.4 or 192 kHz was configured incorrectly (that's why 176.4 and 192 kHz input sample rates functioned correctly). This caused both artifacts and (very very small) spikes in the audio. |

- Audio quality: Turned one filtering step off in 'very strict' filtering mode.(*) - Fixed Bojcha's preset (see Bojcha's post) - Fixed DJ-Doggy's lowpass filter issue (see DJ-DOGGY's post) - Improved Voice vibration filtering at low latency settings. (may cause slightly reduced bass levels, especially at 512 sample latency). (*) I've done a VERY VERY quick quality comparison and in the (one!) track I compared I didn't hear any difference. Still, due to the removed filtering step, the waveform that comes out is quite different from that of BETA79 (only when using VERY STRICT filtering mode!). Feedback is welcome! Uploaded incorrect version (BETA80) before, now replaced by version BETA80A - Sorry! I found a really annoying bug in Loudness. If the Loudness input signal is too loud, it sounds really bad. If I disable everything and compare these two settings, I would expect roughly the same output: - Pre Amp at x4.00, Loudness at x1.01 (1.01 to turn it on) - Pre Amp at x1.00, Loudness at x4.00 However, the first sounds absolutely horrible: Mids push out the bass almost completely, and highs are badly distorted. So lowering the input level and using a higher Loudness setting to compensate for that currently improves the sound quality. This is clearly a problem in the dynamic behavior of Loudness. Will look into it tomorrow. |

Still same as before, last band EQ still at +2.79 and "DC Remove" is still ON.
- Fixed Bojcha's preset (see Bojcha's post) |

Oops! I uploaded the wrong version ![]() Correct version is available now. As I expected, the Loudness input level issue is caused by Punch. Will check it asap. |

In "Loudness and limiting " : It`s better new options like "De-Essrer" and all "Advanced Bass Distortion Protection" to have ability to switch ON and OFF with check box . And since these option appear in stereotool ... sound is not that good in high`s and bass . My opinion is to copy the "loudness and limiting " panel from beta 25 and put it to beta 80A . Then ST is ready to release .... i don`t know 5.10 maybe ? Hans , Problem is really solved i check it this afternoon . Filter is OK now. |
