and little louder than source sound
That is so relative! :)
I know, sometimes is less louder ;)

When using the MB would setting mix = negative value of the displayed median (maybe shifted by the mean of all medians) for every band roughly restore the original (longtime) spectral balance? If so, is it possible to automate that?
The problem if these medians differ a lot is that softer sounds will sound different than louder sounds. The only way to fix that it by making adjustments that keep the medians at the same level.

Is it possible to reorder the filters and why is the MB missing a sidechain?
What do you want to re-order and what would you use a sidechain for? (I can imagine some things, but please tell me your ideas).

In case anyone wants to test:
Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 20-003.exe
Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 20-003.exe
VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 11-020.dll

IMPORTANT: To get a good sound from the composite clipper:
1. Enable it :) It's an option under Advanced Clipper
2. Under Advanced Clipper -> CPU, set 'Strictness' to 20 (at least above 10; check how much your CPU can handle) and Stronger Clipping to around 25-30%.

This thing uses a LOT more CPU power, and it's currently not using any multi-threading. My i7 laptop can barely run it, and I need to set the Strictness value to 12.

If you use the composite clipper, the output level will be higher, and especially the highs will be brighter. Also, there's more headroom to increase the Loudness even more.

Warnings:
1. This version contains a bug. I don't know what it is, but when I close it it crashes. This could lead to any type of weird behavior on other systems, so don't use it on-air yet!
2. You will need a license update to use this! Otherwise the 'unregistered options in use' thingy will pop up, and you'll get messages through the music (every 4 hours).

OoOH..Louder. How loud can I go? can't wait to get my hands on the final version. I guess my system will be down to crawl as it is now. I have this thing pumping and thumping.

A few small changes:
- Bug fix: Previous version MPX output left and right was shifted by 1 sample. This means that if you used both outputs simultaneously you would loose a lot of stereo separation and RDS.
- Bug fix: Previous version didn't always output the same result, now it does (not really a problem, but very annoying when doing comparisons).
- SSB: Added Single Side Band stereo (3 modes: The traditional with steep filter, very wide filter going from 500 to 12,667 Hz, and a steeper going from 10,000 to 12,667 Hz).
- Multipath: Added multipath clipper. No idea if this works. Feedback is welcome. Lower values will cause high frequency and stereo loss! Should work best with SSB enabled!

Note: These 2 new filters will increase the CPU load further! There are some optimizations possible that reduce the increase but I haven't implemented them yet.

Lows are still louder with new clipper, and they hit 100% of MPX level where without new composite is 92% (if "always clip bass level below " is -1.72dB)

Hm, they shouldn't if you disable the 'low frequency shortcuts' (button directly below "COMPOSITE"). (I'll check this later)

Yea i checked with 'low frequency shortcuts' and seems same - atleast at peek level.

Nice new version. I was hoping i could finally set LPF higher to get more highs without affecting RDS.
But when i did i saw that RDS level is affected with all SSB modes. Can you look at that?

Hey Bojcha, do you have a link to your Win XP lite installation anywhere that would be well suited to this application? We trimmed down XP, but looking for a shortcut, this time, as we are formatting a machine from scratch. Thanks!!!!

Wow, very keen to try the new beta properly. Thanks Hans!

Some first impressions though:

Looks like the advanced clipper metering dies when the composite clipper setting is ticked?

Do you think the composite clipper & SSB settings are best left under 'Processing - Advanced Clipper' or would it make more sense under "Configuration - FM Transmitter'?
