BETA038 is posted. Streaming libraries are now loaded if they are found, which has quite some impact on the Windows code as well. I expect things to still work, but a lot of "glue" code was written by ChatGPT and may contain issues. The Linux Intel/AMD 64 bit multi-instance build now also supports streaming, but we still need to find a way to add the .so files. at least the software runs again without those. Other Linux and Mac builds still need to be updated to include streaming. This will likely take a few more days to finish. |

BETA039 is posted. Streaming libraries are available for the Linux version in new the Linux .zip files; they need to be in your library path so I recommend to use the "run" script to start it. For Mac, they are also included, but for some reason the AAC library doesn't load. I don't know why. Workaround: After installing, copy libfdk-aac.dylib from the Framework directory of the Stereo Tool .app directory to MacOS. Then it works. But I don't know why that's the case, and the other .dylibs work without that. Edit: Enter this to fix it, when you're in the directory where Stereo Tool is installed: install_name_tool -add_rpath @executable_path/../Frameworks stereo_tool.app/Contents/MacOS/* The next build will have this done. |

Fair point. All the things it needs, the new StereoTool framework already has. I don't know how it works, but I would think it would be relatively trivial to add those missing features and finish Perfect Declipper. Unless there's something that's stopping that from being possible.
![]() ![]() ![]() I was more hinting about getting it fixed with the missing features, etc.. those items keep falling further down the list.. I gotta do my part to keep that thing alive! |

BETA042 is posted. (Oh and there are some updates in Perfect Declipper! It might actually be fully functional now...) Mainly, we have AAC support now on STXtreme, Linux (also ARM/Raspberry Pi), Mac. For that, you need to download the .zip file that contains the streaming libraries, and start them with the "run" script. The Alsa and Jack binary are the same; if you want to test with Jack rename the Stereo Tool binary to something with "jack" in the name (and adjust the "run" script, or just start with LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./stereo_tool_jack or whatefver). Reported GUI issue with stereo display is fixed. |

For those looking, the downloads are:https://www.stereotool.com/download/vst ... 31-042.dll https://www.stereotool.com/download/vst ... 31-042.dll While it may be functional, (haven't tested it) it still doesn't have some integral features like the Final Limiter toggle, Azimuth, Noise Gate, and CPU core settings. The meter bar and oscilloscopes are much appreciated though. edit: Oh, it would also be handy if there was a Processing Overview page for Perfect Declipper similar to the one in Stereo Tool. |
