I see those harmonics here too, but no difference in noise level w/ or w/o composite.
Interesting is when i compare with BaO. Noise level in ST is around -120dB. in BaO is around -170 and pilot is kinda more protected.
But, those harmonics in BaO are way more higher!
Hm. 16 vs 24 bit sound card settings? Have you tried that with Wasapi, KS, ASIO? MME is limited to 16 bit and that does give you about a -120 dB noise floor.

-120 is already superb. So, no worries about that.

Edit: Bojcha, try my experiment with BAO and 14.417 kHz signal at the input, to see how bad is the output, if you don`t put final clipper to at least -3.50db.
This is the noise i hear in ST, but way way way tooooo low. This is exactly what happens, but in ST is 100 times better done the processing, because there the clipper is not at -3.50, but at 0.00 and mentioned noise is almost nothing. Except those harmonics in the L-R area.
See...

And yeah, i forgot to say something else. See in BAO what form has the 14.417 kHz signal. phase noise! It starts at -80db

In ST this is not exist! Signal is very clear down almost to the noise floor.

Im always on 24bit. also same VAC cable is used for both.

edit: damn.. I just checked KS, and now noise is -170dB. Didnt know that MME IS limited to 16bit.

I have always thought that that was a Windows/sound card feature (some sound cards allow you to record the output that's sent to it). But I thought that that would just be offered as an extra input in the sound card list. If RocketBroadcaster can do it, there must be something else... I've put it on our todo list to look into it; if you happen to know more let us know.
I prefer the stand alone for streaming as, for me at least, ST sounds 100% better than RB.

These are called WASAPI Loopback devices. PortAudio can be compiled with support (I think). It isn't exactly an application per basics. An issue would be lookup recording to speakers causing a loop.

BETA013 is posted, we're nearly ready for a 10.11 release (with mainly bug fixes from 10.10). If you encounter any issues please let me know.

Biggest change: Mac versions should now work properly on retina displays.

About loopback: I'll look into that. I didn't know that that was something that the software can apparently request.

I've seen this before and then it was gone for a while since Beta 013 back again?

Oh! The old-style-limit and gate values were swapped in the display. That must have been like this forever... Fixed!

Thanks for the info. I've also noticed a slight delay as well when I use the BIMP mic on the VST plugin in RB, so that's a drawback.
