Ok, I'm still busy with the Jack support for Linux (when that's ready I'll make a new thread about BETA version 7.24 without mentioning Linux etc, I hope that will be Monday). Anyway, I was reminded by someone at radiodiscussions.com dat I still hadn't added asymmetrical clipping/limiting for AM. So I just added it. I think I also found the cause of the sporadic red output bars - that should be gone now. I am sure the AM users will be pleased about this. I am a little confused by the AM transmitter section though. Is the asymmetrical audio meant to be on the FM output or the normal output? B.T.W. There's a small typo in the "Asymmetry Sttength" slider... |

There's a small typo in the "Asymmetry Sttength" slider... Would it be possible/make sense to only make the transmitter output asymmetrical so that the LQ / NO is unaffected? (monitoring etc.) Maybe renaming the FM soundcard ouput the 'transmitter soundcard ouput' and being able to switch between AM transmitter or FM transmitter might be an option? If you are considering implementing more AM features like a NRSC filter or pre-emphasis, this might make sense? Would be interesting to hear the AM users opinions on this... |

I would say add a separate AM Output. |

Red output bars are not fixed. It still happens sometimes. |

Right now the AM support is kinda limited, for example in the US if you want to use 75 us pre-emphasis you need to enable FM processing as well (!). I will probably fix this and make it more logical later, for now the feature is available for the (probably very few?) AM stations that can use it. |

Thanks to NRSC AM bandwidth was compromised. Old AM could sound amazing!! |

Wow. Turns out that all the Jack issues I was having were caused by a corrupt Linux install... I re-installed it last night and now everything starts up as it should! |

I know Linux comes in several flavors.Would any of you mind sharing what versions you're using. Kinda got my interest stirred up here. |
