Hi, I testing beta 73 with my profile (in attachment), which loaded CPU ( core i7 2600K @ 2,5GHz) to 100% without skips. It is very interesting to see what parts of StereoTool most utilizing CPU: 20-25% - Normal processing (StereoImage, Azimuth, ACG, multiband, Loudness) up to 20% - DeClipper over 50% - Natural Dynamics ![]()

I've uploaded part of the song Celine Dion - It's All Coming Back To Me Now. When she sings "For days" the clipped F part isn't declipped properly. http://www41.zippyshare.com/v/4338665/file.html |

I know ![]() Besides normal work and Stereo Tool I'm also working on a new SMS games site with a group of people. (No not those annoying expensive SMS's). And I have to spend some time on that too ![]() By the way, I've found a very interesting new way to detect clipping, which _might_ work much better. And for certain tracks with clipping + tilt + clipping, it should detect both clippings. The main reason to implement this is to avoid unnecessary declipping which in some cases reduces the audio quality instead of improving it. But I´m having some doubts whether this is needed - if I lower the slider that removes valleys below a certain percentage some of the drums are not restored as high as the others - but it's not flat either! I'm starting to distrust those drum kicks. If they have been clipped BEFORE the mix was created, that might just as well explain what I'm seeing - and if that's the case then my lower reconstruction could still be correct. |

@Hans I have a problem on beta73 I just noticed. So I saved a preset file and if I open it in Notepad the "Extra Loudness" is at 4 like I wanted it. But when I load Stereo Tool and go to "Load" under the preset menu and I select that STS file, it does not read the "Extra Loudness" line properly because it is at 3.00 in the GUI while it is clearly 4 in the STS file. I can manually fix it every time I load the preset but it's a pain. |

Bug found: I loaded a preset with wrong asio settings for my ESI juli@ card and when i enabled asio and turned the channels off for fm transmitter, stereo tool exits with message. To test this: - Open stereo tool - Press Reset - Set only ASIO Channels 5 and 6 on for FM transmitter output and 1 and 2 for input, all others off. - Disable normal output and enable FM transmitter output - Set FM transmitter ON - Set buffer size lower, let's say 40.0 ms. - Enable Asio if it's not yet enabled, set sample rate at 192000, priority Real-time, use multiple CPU on. - Now click off ASIO channel 5, then click off ASIO channel 6. - If it doesn't crash for you click on and off channel 6 or channel 5. Maybe it will even crash for other channels.

@Hans Sorry I didn't clarify. It's only with the VST version. I attached the preset I am using (I've had this problem with another preset I made also). But sometimes when I load the STS file, the loudness in the GUI is at 3.00 even though in the STS file it's 4.00. But sometimes it loads it correctly so every time I have to manually make sure in the GUI that it's at 4.00. I have not noticed this in the DSP or Stand alone versions though. THanks.

Though I have to admit that I have not understood why these rounding errors only affect the VST version (and not the other versions) ? 16 bit <--> 32 bit transformation ? ![]() ![]() Hans ? |
