Preset name does not show in the DSP version where it does in the standalone version. |

It is showing as StereoTool 7.50 when I run the 51-014 beta dsp. |

I notice that both Multiband and Classic multiband was enabled at the same time. By unchecking multiband, then "classic multiband" shows on left side. Clicking in to "classic mutliband", I see it is enabled. Is it normal to have both Classic and regular (newer?) multiband enabled at the same time? I don't know if this was a problem with my preset, or if some anomaly crept in recently. |

@hvz: I have two suggestions for the MB 1- Move to place the "L. max Release" control to the section Speed of MB, also is related to the section. 2- Limit the maximum peak of "Mix" to 12dB (20dB today) control for better accuracy in the values due to more travel. |

It's related to limiter(s). So it's at good place.

I have no idea what the Bands setting under Advanced Clipper/Pre-limiter really does. I find it hard to believe there's even a remotely efficient 128 band crossover in existence, but maybe there is. In any case, why stop at 128 bands? I'm playing with 2048 right now. It doesn't appear to affect CPU much if at all, nor does it seem to affect the sound much. Maybe if I drove it harder. Does anyone know what this setting does, or have any general guidelines for adjusting it? |

I can tell you that i am using 32 and recommended is 128 or 256.
Does anyone know what this setting does, or have any general guidelines for adjusting it? |

Can you actually hear the difference? Even with excessive drive to the clipper, I really can't hear anything change. How did you settle on 32? |

One thing that might be problematic if you use more bands is that the response will be slower and it cannot detect transients. If you use 2048 bands for example, the only way of doing that is to look at pretty large blocks of audio. The smaller the number of bands, the more it will respond to short bursts. But also the bigger the frequency range gets that's affected, and at some point it may start to sound bad. I haven't had time yet to do more tests with this (although I heard from some people at the IBC today that they found that it works very well, especially on 1980's music if you use very slow compressor settings).
Does anyone know what this setting does, or have any general guidelines for adjusting it? |
