Consistency is *really* great.

Trying to understand one thing though. The slider description says "Reduce Stereo". So higher value means more Mono-ish output. It's the other way round. A little more clarification would be helpful.

Hmh, that Matrix thing acts quite weirdly.. It affects the AGC overall gain suprisingly much and will lead to less loud results. Or I'm just using it wrong.

Less loud results is a bug: L+R is in general twice as loud as L or R, so you need to increase the output target level by 6 dB. Will be fixed in the next version.

Nothing really interesting:
- Matrix output doesn't need to be increased by 6 dB anymore
- The last few versions (smaller block sizes for MB/compressors) caused a CPU load increase, most of that is gone again.

Hans, there is a problem with this latest beta. When you load a presset, no sound or stuck sound. Check it out.!

Confirmed. I've killed the download links, will check what happened.

"0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0xffffffff."
That indicates a too aggressive optimization. (It doesn't really read at the listed location, but at a location that's not a multiple of 16).

Next version should work again, and it contains a new 'Traditional Peak' compressor mode that supports limiting, gamma (flatness) etc. It will be very close in sound to 'Peak' mode but with much less CPU usage.

Edit: Hm, seems to work *reasonably* well for Natural Dynamics as well... I'm curious about other people's results! Build is running...

Changes w.r.t. BETA732-009:
- Improved Traditional Peak mode for compressors (Singleband, Multiband) and maybe Natural Dynamics. (*)
- Matrix output doesn't need to be increased by 6 dB anymore
- The last few versions (smaller block sizes for MB/compressors) caused a CPU load increase, most of that is gone again.

Windows stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 32-011.exe
Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 32-011.exe
Windows VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 32-011.dll

(*) Sound should be close to that of Peak mode (although there's slightly less bass), CPU load is greatly reduced and code is simplified. ND quality seems to suffer a bit from it; it might be possible to calibrate it to fix this, I have not yet tried it.
A "smoothed" signal is generated to be used for the limiter and for release behavior.
Peak mode: For each compressor the audio was split into 10 bands, in each band smoothing was performed, and then the results were combined and matched to the real peak levels.
New Traditional Peak mode: A constant slope is used to go down in both directions from a peak; the slope is made less steep when there is more low frequency content.

You can probably imagine that the new Traditional Peak mode is MUCH simpler than Peak mode and hence uses a lot less processing power.

Note that the behavior of the new Traditional Peak mode can easily be modified by changing the slope, or how strongly low
frequencies change the slope. For now I've tried to mimic the Peak behavior, once that's good enough I'll make some extra parameters available for tweaking - I wouldn't be surprised if complaints that Bojcha has about the current limiter behavior could be fixed that way.

In the AGC and multiband sections in the main window could you split the meters so it shows L and R instead of combined ? It would be helpful for monitoring purposes specially now with the new addition of matrix mode.

Hans,
Translation to Bulgarian is broken . I mean ST is not support CP1251 coding . I also test it with saving the file in UTF-8 . Still not displayed right ! So implement the CP1251 coding so the translation to be good displayed
