Congratulations Hans, a real gem this software, when I think how many devices in a rack it would take to get the same thing, of course dedicated processors in the broadcast domain exist but are overpriced.

It had a bit too much bass so we reduced it. So in total it will indeed be a bit quieter.
Is it intended in this preset that the way or speed it equalizes bass volume is noticeably slow? For example if you take the song "Oliver - Control (Nom De Strip Remix)" it has a powerful and punchy bass at the "chorus" when the beat kicks in at around 01:00. Right at the beginning of the beat with this preset the bass is loud for 1-2 seconds and then the preset turns the bass down quite a lot. It's a noticeably slow effect and I think it stands out.
Hm. That might be a bit too much. You can reduce the MB2 band 1 limiter, that reduces it a lot. I've just lowered it to 0 dB (which reduces this kick by about 3 dB compared to the preset, and doesn't seem to affect other sounds yet, based on a VERY short test). Beside that, we've worked on it a bit further as well since this release, you might want to try this: Bass clipper to 30% (-10.5 dB), slopes to 6 dB/oct instead of 12.
MB2 band 1 (Freq 60 Hz) limiter to 0 dB (or -0.01 dB)
Bass clipper threshold to 30 % and input/output lowpass slopes to 6.0 dB/oct

Thanks. Also a very short test but at least the change in bass volume is less abrupt now.

Stereo Tool 9.02 BETA001 - Bug fix version

Windows 32 bit:
Windows stand alone: XXXwww.stereotool.com/download/stereo_tool_standalone_installer_BETA902-001.exe BUILD FAILED
Winamp DSP: https://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp ... 02-001.exe
VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 02-001.dll

Windows 64 bit:
Windows stand alone: https://www.stereotool.com/download/ste ... 02-001.exe
VST: https://www.stereotool.com/download/vst ... 02-001.dll

CHANGES:
  • Add MB clippers
  • Lower GUI thread priority for plugin versions.
  • Make Windows event thread priority equal to GUI thread priority. (Affinity was already ok)
  • Set minimum size on VST version (1500x843)
  • Update build script for much faster build - partially done
  • Mac VST plugin issue in OcenAudio.
  • Add MB clipper to MB1 as well. Decide if limiter AND clipper needed simultaneously (probably not?)
  • Update build script - remainder
  • Input level meter can flash black on Mac. Cause unknown, doesn't really reproduce in a clear way.
  • Test 64 bit sound card exception handling in ProppFrexx
  • White flashing. So far seen twice by \_/ and a while ago by Bojcha (who then saw that he had this in all versions going back to 7.70 or so, and got it fixed by updating his video driver). For now I'm waiting if others see the same thing, and if \_/ keeps seeing it. Nothing really changed in the drawing engine except for the addition of 4K support - but the drawing itself works the same and there's no good reason why this would suddenly appear. The 4K change itself was also done months ago and \_/ hasn't seen it in the beta's.

I will definitely update the presets tomorrow, that might be all (the 2 remaining issues are virtually impossible to reproduce at this point, so I can't really investigate them, and they don't appear to be very serious).

Hi. I tried downloading the latest beta for Winamp DSP, but I'm getting a 404 error message "page cannot be found".

Ah! Sorry, I was optimizing my build script and it doesn't upload automatically right now. On top of that the links were wrong. They should work now.

MB2 only for now (under Limiters, "Clip instead") - I will add it for MB1 today.

Hans, would you please consider removing the Winamp requirements and prompts from the dsp installer? Are they needed? I know some will always use winamp, so maybe it should stay, but I wonder how many use the DSP in other software...
