The Achilles heel of ST is the documentation. It should be updated and current to say the least |

Wooh! There was indeed a delay on it! Removed now ![]() |

Note: An important different between version 4.22 and 5.xx is that in 4.22 the frequency ranges of the 2 pre limiter bands are completely different from those of version 5.xx. This may lead to higher or lower amounts of highs in version 5.xx. I have added a 3rd band to accomodate for this, but I think it doesn't really behave as it should (yet) - mainly because the frequency range might need to be extended (I think it should start at a lower frequency). Will get back on this... |

I know. Next thing on the list, after fixing the AGC.

I've made some calibration changes, and I think by changing just 2 values I can approach the Pre Limiter sound of version 4.22 with the new AGC filter. So I think I should make those 2 values configurable... (Bojcha: Some time ago you asked if the filter frequencies for band 3 weren't too high. Well compared to version 4.22 they were - I've now changed them from 5000-13000 (sliding) to 1000-5300 (sliding). Basically all I did was changing the filter frequencies of band 3 to approximate those of band 2 in version 4.22. And changed the maximum output value to twice that of band 2 (I think I shouldn't do that, but I first wanted to get the same behavior as before). Update will be available in the next beta. (Tomorrow morning) How to use it: - Select 3 bands - Set the up/down speed of band 3 to the same values as band 1 (assuming that was also the case in version 4.22, band 3 in v5.xx corresponds to band 2 in version 4.22). - Set the maximum level of band 3 to ~ 40-50%. (Depending on the amount of highs that you want). |

3rd band 1000-5300 ? After 5300.. flat to 16000?I still think that 3rd band is not needed... I take different approach to create (edit) my stream/transmitter preset. I am geting good results (for now). Bad thing is that i use weakness of StereoTool, mostly weakness of not so ideal Bandpass filter. With this preset i minimized some very low bass rumble and in same time i think i solve some voices vibrations. (must listen more tracks) In same time i differently set highs with some negative values in EQ. Here i notice that 16kHz lowpass raises frequencies 8-16kHz, so i minimized that. |

Hello Hans 1 Sound 5.0 better but less high-frequencies are needed. 2 Version which laid Bojcha out better what last Stereo Tools 5.0 Betta. There better with high-frequencies. 3 In high-frequencies much ssss cccc Stereo Tools 5.0 Betta I ask to listen radio of http://www.rmf.pl. There very good sound. During work of processor Stereo Tools all sounds too brightly! Оrban gives a less bright sound. Igor UA!! ![]() |

I've uploaded the version with different band 3 filtering as BETA2 now. This should greatly reduce too loud highs - and in a more reliable (constant) manner than just changing the slider settings. See my post above (2 post higher) for good settings. BETA2 links: Winamp DSP plugin: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... _BETA2.exe Stand alone version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... _BETA2.exe VST version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... _BETA2.dll VST version (No SSE2): http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... _BETA2.dll Command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... _BETA2.exe Quote: 2 Version which laid Bojcha out better what last Stereo Tools 5.0 Betta. I'll do a 5.00 vs. BETA comparison tonight. (I would expect them to sound nearly equal, but apparently they don't???)

Hello Hans! First test normal. And is stable control of cut of high-frequencies possible? And change of his parameters? To correct vibrations at the change of level I Will try on the transmitter of Successes!!! IgorUA |

You mean configuring the band 3 filter freqs? I can make them configurable (and I'm planning to).Quote: To correct vibrations at the change of level I Will try on the transmitter of
