Actually that could be easy: If you're in 'number typing' mode the whole slider can be replaced by a text field in which you can type a number.

But that leaves the question: How would you indicate to the GUI that you want to type a number?
Actually that could be easy:
Left mouse button double-clicking :!:
Similar to many VST-plugins GUI - including non-integer values for low frequencies and for other settings if useful.

A single click on the numeric value? Almost if not all adjustable parameters work like a slider, so imput as a single click is unlikley, more over if you think it in a touch interface context.

Why is it unlikely ?

Left mouse button double-click  type the value  press enter to confirm and exit type mode.
This way it works with hundreds of VST-plugins.
So why would that be unlikely for Stereo Tool ?

IMO touch interface usage must be addressed separately by a special UI version anyway.

Problem with double click or single click is that that's currently used to move the slider 1 unit (or 2 for double click, 3 for triple click, ...). Clicking on the value is also done when you want to change the slider value because the number is inside the slider. (Maybe that's the problem...)

Maybe just position the cursor in the field and type, since typing numbers doesn't have any other function? Arrows seem to work this way, at least in the multiband.

I've changed the way band coupling works a bit, the strength of each band is now calculated using:

percentage(0..1) ^ 2log(ratio main band and band we're looking at).
The good thing is that if we are looking at the main band the ratio is 1, the log of the ratio is 0 and anything ^ 0 is 1 again, so I don't need to perform any tricks to get the main band to '1'. So, this MIGHT be better. But I'm not really sure about that.

I've ran some quick tests (not much time today, I've been busy preparing a presentation for the technical managers of 13 tv and 13 radio stations tomorrow) and it seems to work fine.

Also new: You can give the first and last band more 'freedom', this does make these bands more important to the total level though!
I have noticed an increase in CPU with this implementation, and on my system, can not maintain the without drops in the audio to be able to comment on the change. :(

I have the feeling that indicators of gain reduction is displayed whenever the values without coupling, because I fail to notice difference with values of 0 or 100%. But if the effect is heard audibly. :|

Do we really need this unique (odd) input option (besides cursor keys and mousewheel !) ?
IMO that is obsolete and very confusing (especially for new users).
Until now I avoid clicking, because it often leads to unwanted parameter jumps e.g. for the multiband frequencies.

So why not try to adapt the UI to the standards (used by hundreds of other programs and plugins) ?

@ Brian

The picture shows "The Wild 13".
Old-school pirates !
And if they control those 13 TV and radio stations, then Hans has to be very carefully during their meetings.
