Along with that, can you investigate the GUI issues that have been reported, or is that being considered a non-issue? How do you explain the change of the GUI impacting the audio (stuttering) that has been present since 7.43 BETA009, vs. no stuttering in 7.43 BETA005 and older using the same preset?

Thanks.
I will look into that, but for now I have no idea what it can be. I did make some changes in the way certain things work between those versions, but these changes should have no impact on the CPU load or behavior. You reported earlier that the CPU load was the same but you see hiccups, and mpex2006km a higher CPU load and hiccups. It does seem to affect single-core pc's only.

The biggest change between those 2 versions is that I moved the processing from the main thread (the thread of the host program in case of the plugin version, or the thread that performs sound card I/O in the stand alone version) to a separate thread. That separate thread shares the same priority settings though. (Hm... Let me check that to make sure!!!). And it's called by setting an event (which the new thread is waiting for) and then immediately waiting for the event to be handled. This should not make any difference and it doesn't seem to on multicore systems. Anyway, I'll check that code, and also check if I can get rid of the extra thread in situations where it isn't needed.

The bad thing is that my cpu's heatsink base broke last night and for now no more single core cpu to test newer versions.

One thing that i would like to tell me what am2 cpu's to look for stereo tool.

Just added the Winamp/DSP and 32 bit VST plugin versions of BETA745-008. There's a problem with the first kick that doesn't get boosted enough in the L-R with the new method (reported by Bojcha) - I will look into that tomorrow.

@mpex2006km

Take some double core K10 Amd Athlon II X2 or Phenom II X2 and you can unlock the Phenom to 4 cores if you have some compatible model of Mainboard. But remember , only K10 family or later .

Hello,
What means "hide extreme tweaker mode"?

If you go to Extreme Tweaker mode it will now ask you if you really want to go there, if you say 'no' it takes you to Expert mode.

I have also moved all the sliders that could be in any way useful from Extreme Tweaker to Expert mode. So Extreme Tweaker will now really only add things that you shouldn't need.

New features = new .x number. .0x is actually for bug fixes and small changes (so I could have also named 7.44 7.50, but the changes such as the watchdog there were mainly affecting the stand alone version). x.00 is for VERY big changes (such as the new GUI in 7.00).

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php
Look them up in this list.

Then calculate the speed per core as follows:

1. Divide total speed by #cores
2. If the CPU supports HyperThreading (probably not, I think only Intel has that), divide the result by 1.3.

The higher this number is, the more of ST you can run. Hint: Quality from 0% to 100% makes a 50% difference in CPU load. So, if you now run at Quality 20%, and you want to run at 100%, the new CPU must be at least (200 / 120) = 1.67 times as fast as your current (if you have multiply cores that helps as well of course, but not everything in ST runs on multiple cores. Current ST uses 2 cores at most, plus one for the GUI).

Since I don't see it here it's difficult to tell what's causing this exactly. My best guess is that the fact that I moved the processing to a different thread (which might impact how Windows schedules things) could be causing this. I have now removed this extra thread again, please let me know if the next beta (009, will build and upload it tonight) is ok again.
