- BS412 fix
- Bass clipping fix (see earlier posts); CPU load *should* be down again...
- New Loudness settings are saved to disk (AGC not yet, because I'm not completely happy with it yet).
CPU usage is back down.

Mouse wheel issue with the Max harmonics slider in loudness is still there. It stops at 327. If you move the slider with the mouse or arrow keys beyond 327, you cannot make mouse wheel changes to that control until it goes back down to 327 or lower.

Brian ..
can you compare CPU usage with only loudness on (without bass boost and deep bass protection) between 4096 and 2048 (latest beta)?
It's important :)

The test description is too vague, so I'm not completely sure I'm doing the same thing as you.

If I press Reset, then move the loudness slider up to 1.01, at 4096, I've got 33% for winamp.exe. At 2048, that drops to a mere 1-5%.

If that's what you're noticing, also notice that the "Take some shortcuts (CPU)" gets unchecked when you reset.

Turning on "Take some shortcuts (CPU)", brings 4096 down to 1-8%, and 2048 to < 1%.

Of course, this is dependent upon MP3 files as the source material. Percentages are higher for MP4 files.

CPU usage as reported for Winamp is also higher if you have the GUI up vs. in the tray. Bringing the GUI up, with the shortcuts enabled makes 4096 be 28-34% , and 2048 is at 2-4%.

If none of that is what you're asking about, then clarify what you have enabled / disabled or post a preset that you're testing this with so that we can be sure we're talking about exactly the same thing.

That's enough info..and difference is huge.
Aksed because i found that sound, and especially bass is much more 'better' at 2048, only loudness ON . Don't know exactly how to describe, sounds more analog and that lost deep bass at 4094 is back. Aslo clipper works cleaner. Also new bass_shape filter sounds better...
However, all rest filters are much worse at less then 4096. Noticed HPF is with far less filtering, for example...

Ok, I'm not going to put too much effort into this right now because I hope and expect that the quality problem at lower latencies will be greatly reduced after the redesign that I'm planning.

I will try to adjust the bass shape to match 2048 though.

Bass shape at 4096 (strength 0.50) is now nearly identical to that of 2048 (strength 0.20).

Female voice filter checkbox replaced by a slider - you can now control how much protection you want. The reason for this addition is that the protection also has some unwanted side effects (certain tones are not lowered enough by the AGC anymore).

Before if the checkbox was enabled, the amount of protection was 3 dB. Now the default setting is 1.5 dB - this should still catch most of the voice problems, but the side effects are reduced by half. If you think the side effects are still too much let me know and I'll change the default setting.

i still prefer 2048 over 4096, even 1024 over 4096 for loudness... It's almost funny how I didn't notice this erlier. Also less distorted and cleaner kicks...

btw.. "dat" distortion on bass kick is still present. Not at 2048 and 1024. Also not in v6.30 (which was my point about this)

Yeah you have been right. I also can notice a difference in the bass between the two latencies. In 2048 the sound is better then in 4096...
