In the mean time: I've tried both Bojcha's new preset and the old 'Addiction' preset, and - due to the fact that the audio is already very heavily compressed - I kinda like the 'Addiction' version here. Or maybe just a toned down version of the new preset. What do you think? I want to upload something that really shows what Stereo Tool can do Among others, I'm getting loud 'S' sound issues (other frequencies are dropped too much) with some tracks in this mix. - mostly around 2:00-2:10. This is on my todo list to fix, but I can't wait a week before I upload my processed version... Edit: Hm, don't know what happened - but for some reason I was testing with Loudness boosted to 3.00 instead of 2.13. At 2.13 it sounds much better. |

Aren't you giving stereo tool an unfair advantage if you use two different presets? You also got the advantage of no analog input / output conversions in comparison with the others. But it's possible to do it. I'm glad i am not the only one who's having problems with the S sounds. |

Hm, you're right. Ok, I'll use this one then. The 'S' sound issue is on top of my todo list. |

Addiction preset has much less loudness.. What happen if in "B-Town" preset you set same loudness level ? This is really true problem with highs in ST. Many times i wanted to push it more, but i always put it back after few days (listening a transmitter) Maybe part of problem is in composite limiter too, but again seem most of problem is in Loudness filter. |

True. It has improved a lot since version 4.xx where this issue was really bad - but it's still not good enough (others are better). I'll try if I can fix it tomorrow. EITHER there's something wrong in my current filter, OR I need to dynamically change the deesser level based on the (estimated) effect on the rest of the audio. |

No, Less lowering other sounds when loud highs (loud S) is present, or .. some fast recover from that effect.
