If you don`t trust me try Winamp with DSP StereoTool , VAC at 192000 ST output , then this VAC is Input to MPXTool and in MPXTool output to Soundcard. Play some MP3 and see.... what MPXTool is graphing.
But what happens when you set VAC also to 176400 Hz? Because then no conversions should be performed, and the output should be perfect again.

And - as far as I've seen - (almost!) all sound cards support both 44.1 and 48 kHz as base frequencies, and 176.4 kHz is a multiple of 44.1 just like 192 kHz is a multiple of 48 kHz.

But - not for the current release, but soon - I will add a 'force 192 kHz' setting in the FM output, because I got reports from people who have a sound card that does not support 176.4 kHz.

(Upsampling from 176.4 to 192 kHz is not that simple, there is a reason why Windows+VAC does it so poorly... So I want to look at this AFTER releasing the current version.)

Ah DSP..

I pointed to the problem before. That's i always tell to anyone to always use Standalone.
btw, same problem is even if vac is at 176.4kHz .. DSP always act like Standalone at 44.1 or 48kHz

Odd, it shouldn't do that... My Juli@ card just switches to the natively supported 176.4 which is good.

Running a new build now with the following changes:
- Punch issue with bass protection should be fixed (for normally processed sounds, the difference should be very small)
- Multiband frequencies stored in .STS file, so they can be changed (not in the GUI).
- Default setting for "Allow louder lows" set to +10000, next step will be to remove this slider altogether
- 'Very deep bass protection' disabled by default, next step is to either fix the filter or remove it.

If i set VAC to <= ST sample rate MPXTool shows multiple RDS signals and pilot signals
The problem is not there . problem is that in DSP cannot set input SR . IT`s the Smple rate of the track (song)
But i said that this isn`t good to have link with input and output SR
because input rate is never constant

In my opinion 192Khz must be like TUNNEL with L+R /pilot/ L-R L-R RDS all this in ONE TUNNEL of 192KHz . this method is not require input of 192Khz ... only all this with 192Khz .
In present condition sample rate is in use with start to end of program. but It must be like this
192Khz is require only for coded signal 44.100(L+R) 44.100(L-R) 44.100(L-R) RDS , respectively 48.000 ... So 44.100 +44.100 +44.100 ....one 192000 channel is enough . UP sampling not required for song. Ive never seen song with 88200 SR for example but you can do it ...with sound forge let`s say. Thatswhy if you use DSP plugin you must only listen MP3`s made with 192Khz SR . This is insane for 20Khz bandwidth to use 192Khz SR.
By the way this condition is not that bad but just say that is not right ?!

Bojcha ... just oposite : DSP is the most useful because you may use it for broadcast and Stream in one with one player (Winamp or FOOBAR my favorite) Both broadcast and stream are modeled with ST . Otherwise you need another instance of stereotool and streamer for stream to be modeled with ST, another output and so on.

And Question to Hans ...: Hans any chance ST to be compatible directly with FOOBAR 2000 as foo_dspstereotool.dll ? :( Can you make my favorite version 5.02 BETA25 for FOOBAR 2000 ?

Winamp DSP plugin: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 510-53.exe
Stand alone version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 510-53.exe
VST version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 510-53.dll
VST version (No SSE2): http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 510-53.dll
Command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 510-53.exe
Linux command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... BETA510-53 (not available)
Linux GUI version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... BETA510-53 (not available)

- Punch issue with bass protection should be fixed (for normally processed sounds, the difference should be very small)
- Multiband frequencies stored in .STS file, so they can be changed (not in the GUI). Attributes in STS file: Center frequency - Band x=nnnnnn
- Default setting for "Allow louder lows" set to +10000, next step will be to remove this slider altogether
- 'Very deep bass protection' disabled by default, next step is to either fix the filter or remove it.

Wow !!!
It is already Christmas in heaven (Monty Python !).
Something for the kids (like me) to play with.
Welcome to frequency nerds paradise.

Thank You very much Santa Hans !

Yeah ..
But this not working for me, at least not when set 1st MB band to 5 or 10Hz.. it always stay same. Others too, 350Hz to 500... totally same.
What if i want to "join" last 3 bands? Set them to same (5.5kHz) freq.? .. nope .. something is werid then.
Image
This should be at 500Hz, but it's still at around 350.

btw, Bass/kick is different now .. like it's more over-punched..

The filter is not that precise. So 10 Hz and 40 Hz could very well be the same. Especially at low frequencies the filter is not very steep.

Not possible.......
Edit: Maybe it is... Just set the last few bands to 22050 or so. Then you have less bands left.

So it's punching too much? That could very well be, there were some values there that I have INCREASED if there isn't too much bass. I guess I should undo that change then?
--> Building version with original (or lower) Punch levels now, hope that will help.

And what about 500 is still 350 ?

Well.. i think you should. This punch is less natural...

- What about strict ?
