anyway .. settings are around 700-800Hz "start freq" and "smoothnes" around 95-99.. will find...

Great filter :) :)

And I just found a bug that's causing wrong behavior if the start freq is not set to 1000 (was still hardcoded somewhere). Fixing it in a moment, and I'll add a display like the one in the previous post to the Stereo Tool config screen so you can see exactly (...???) what you're doing when you change the sliders.

(Well it's probably useless to about everyone, but it'll look cool regardless).

We like cool Hans :-)

New version is coming up. I noticed that I'm missing one parameter that might be very important (the number of rotations - less means staying closer to the original sound, more means much more scattering of the phasing). Currently this is hard-coded at 4 (so you see the red line go round 4 times, then it ends in a straight line).

About Smoothness: The results are probably better if smoothness is increased and at the same time the start speed and start freq are decreased. See the graph: If you increase smoothness and decrease the other 2 the graph that comes out is roughly identical, but the edge at the start is much smoother (rounder, which means less ringing artifacts). Which should indicate a better (more natural) sound. The overall shape of the graph doesn't change much, which means that the difference for distortion prevention is small.

I would suggest a smoothness value of around 98-99%.

Tomorrow I'll add the number of rotations slider to enable full control over the filter.

New version uploaded as BETA3A.

Changes:
- Fixed bug that caused something (I don't really know what it caused...) when start freq was not 1000 Hz
- Added 'rotations' slider: Here you can determine how often the phase rotates between start freq and infinity
- Added display which display the phase effect per frequency (note: Every line is 1000 Hz, display runs from 0 to 10 000 Hz).

I've also slightly changed the default values (start freq 700, speed 1400, smoothness 98%).

Edit: Higher "rotations" values give less distortion. 4 seems to be the lowest value where the sound is getting good enough (at 3 I hear more distortion, at 5 the difference with 4 is very small).

Note: To hear the type of pre-ringing that this filter causes:
- Set both frequencies to around 100 Hz
- Set rotations to 8
- Set smooth to 90%
Then play something like a bass kick loop (with silence in between) and you'll very clearly hear what's happening.
Setting rotations to 4 and smooth to 98% removes most of the effect.
Increasing the frequencies removes a lot more.

1. This is the latest version?
2. You're still using the "Angle" slider! Which now causes a phasing difference between left and right (which you probably don't want).

If you close (not minimize but really close!) the window and then open it again, what happens then? (IF you still see these bars, does the level change after closing and opening the window?)

Note: I've made another change to the BETA3A version: You can now resize the main window. :D

Meter stops .. (as shown in video file) audio is ok ..all rest is ok .. if i close ST and start again, meter is working again normaly.

LOL > Cool!
But when you make it resizeble .. then option for full screen will be good too. Next to minimize button :)
