I wonder if it's some DC pulling your station off frequency for a second that is causing the sound mute. Maybe try non-phase linear bandpass and/or setting the lower frequency higher?

@Hans i have notice this "mute" long time now... just yesterday i made OFF Azymuth ... and i noticed that Azymuth reacts a little bit on "S" sound.
Phase is ON... sorry i confused....

Chris: My guess is that you are broadcasting TOO LOUD (or the bass is louder than the rest of the sound).

Say, you're broadcasting on 88.5 FM. Then your signal follows the waveform and varies from 88.5 MHz +/- 75 kHz, so 88.425-88.575 MHz.
A station at 88.7 FM would range from 88.625-88.775.

As you can see, there's not THAT much room between 88.575 and 88.625. So if your sound is REALLY loud, then the signal could stay above 88.575 (or below 88.425) for a while, in which case:
1. The receiver does not 'see' any signal, and hence turns the sound off (because it thinks there is no transmission)
2. or: The receiver incorrectly 'thinks' that the signal it gets is from the station at 88.7 instead of your 88.5, and hence turns the sound off (because if you really get a signal from 88.7 it sounds like really really loud distortion).

Now, staying outside the 88.425-88.575 range for a while is likely to occur when there are loud lows. Which can mean either:
- The bass is too loud w.r.t. the rest of the sound
- or: The entire sound is too loud.

i saw his preset, there is not much bass and actually very thin sound, many mids and mid-highs.
What should halp in that preset is to set "Clip lowest bass at" = 0.50 and "Then Rize to" = max 0.90

Yeah but... Does that mean that:
1. He is broadcasting too loud
2. The bass coming out of the transmitter is louder than what Stereo Tool generates
3. There are phase shifts in the output causing louder peaks than what Stereo Tool generates
4. The frequency of his transmitter has an offset, so the receiver gets an offset to one side
5. ...?

Or bad PLL loop filter design. Transmittor goes out of lock during low freq audio.

thank you all for this details... but the problem is on, as far i know, 1 DENON receiver and not anywhere else like my house, my car, other radios... So dont make it big deal.

I think that a second final DC blocker before the mpx clipper...or after ?! ..maiby.. would solve these 1% FM listeners problems with loud stations (overclipped at 75 khz ) .

It's a 100 bytes extra code in stereotool




p.s.
many FM exciters have no DC blocker !! , THIS IS THE CAUSE

If it's that, enabling "Forcibly remove DC component caused by Loudness" in the Loudness window should help... And of course using the bandpass (highpass) filter.
