New BETA2: The lowpass filter (with Quality set to Mid/HQ) should work a lot better now. Other bugs are still there. If Low Latency is enabled, keep Hard Limit turned off or you'll get no sound at all. |

Hi Hans, Lowlatency, HQ, winamp dsp... I think that lowpass is still better in original v4.22 compared to last beta2. I played 40Hz sine tone, and i can hear whistling caused by lowpass... in original 4.22 not. but when i compared this beta2 with original 4.22, i noticed that beta2 have much better Highpass filter. i did not measure latency but for now, best quality for bandpass is Lowpass from org.v.4.22 and highpass from this beta2. |

Hi Bojcha, 1. Are you testing with Loudness enabled? Because the new good quality lowpass filter is currently only implemented as part of that filter - if you turn it off you get the lower quality filter. 2. Are you sure that it's not originating elsewhere? I noticed the last few days that when playing a sweep tone (very low up to 15000 Hz) that the pre limiter is causing strange effects on very low frequencies, and so (as you had already noticed before) is the multiband clipping. I'm planning to eventually convert everything into the new mechanism that I used for Loudness, that should greatly increase the quality. I've uploaded a new BETA2 with slightly better sound, I think in NORMAL latency mode it's actually slightly BETTER than v4.22 was. (And the latency is still a lot lower). You do need to set "Clean/Punch" to punch for good bass sounds (I'll check why later). |

ok... i did not try it with loudness ON, because i am not planing to use it with microphone processing. i'll try new beta later and check other processes.. |

hi, i don't know why, but in this last beta2 i have much more latency !? Ti be sure, i installed beta version (0.002s minimum latency added) and latency is again normal ! - "Very deep bass distortion protection" sounds very bad in lowlatency! - What is wih secondary input? it's not needed now ? btw, i put older beta version in studio for mic processing and set some preset with multiband, noisegate and single compressor. i still have to make some fine tune. |

That's true, the Loudness filter causes about 34 ms extra latency and in the current version that latency is always there. Eventually I'm planning to make the extra latency configurable (it can be lowered at the cost of either loosing some quality or increasing the CPU load). I'll check what's wrong with the deep bass filtering - I did also notice that something doesn't sound the way it should. |

i mean... the latency (all processes turned off) is longer in latest beta2. With all processes turned off the beta1 almost has no latency at all.. tryed today on juli@. |

I've looked into the deep bass limiter thing, and it seems to do exactly what it should do... What do you hear exactly? IMPORTANT NOTE: If you switch TO or FROM Low Latency mode, RESTART Stereo Tool or you'll get strange artifacts / clicking sounds / ... - that might have been the problem... |

I know, but I hadn't rewritten Loudness yet there. I will fix it so that if you don't use Loudness the latency is low again.

I am not talking about loudness ... or any other process... HQ, lowLatency, Reset button., using asio, buffer to 0.003 (all processes off) This version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... _BETA2.exe .. Have more latency .. and this version http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... r_BETA.exe .. Have much lower latency.. or now in beta2 loudness have effect even turned off !? ![]() ![]() |
