I must tell you that Hans said .. let the new multiband is a fact , then how many bands is the most easy thing  And he is right , right ? So we must be patient man . Believe me they will be 10 at the beginning .. and we will have a version with 10 .. Then may be they will be custom decided .. by the user i guess

@michi: I've read it - but this discussion has surfaced so many times that I didn't respond now. In short: - For eq, more bands is good - For mb, more bands more easily leads to large differences in level between base and harmonic frequencies, which sounds a bit like distortion. Also, in many cases you don't want to content of the audio to change too much (loud voices that are suppressed a lot), all of this works better with less bands. But I agree: The current MB gives a very 'special' sound that people may like, so for now my plan it to keep it and add a new one beside the current. Number of bands will be configurable (even if only because I have no idea right now how many bands would be best, and it probably also depends on the type of music and the sound you want to achieve). |
