Fixed bug in multiband (attack behavior was wrong and too strong)
Added 'Loud Burst Protection' to both Multiband and all singleband compressors. With this you can remove loud sounds that are not caught by the compressor.

Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 04-043.exe

It seems to me that the multicore support for the DSP version of Beta 42 is false (inverted) at least for the new multiband.
If I enable multicore then I get a much higher CPU usage in WTM than without (no Declipper, no Advanced Clipper - only the new Multiband with 9 bands). :? :?:
No, I did measurements in the DSP version and the throughput is a few percent higher than without multicore enabled.

don`t see attack to be fixed... still not regulate(lower) to the threshold(target) level ?!

Awesome Hans, finally the highs sound right, less dull, voices have more presence, 's' is no longer unnaturally suppressed. :)
The burst protection settings doesn't seem to be saved though.

I don't get that right..
Protect compressor from compressor? Also, what exactly it do ?

Do you have AMD Cool'n'Quiet enabled? If so, try disabling it.

If you're using XP, then you might also try installing the AMD Dual-core Optimizer:

It mainly pertains to video suttering, but there is mention of "other incorrect timing", so who knows?

Maybe, with so many changes in Stereo Tool, it's time for generic presets to receive an update.

Well, for now it's here for testing. There was a preset by Jesse that had issues with loud bursts after silence, and so I implemented something similar to the 'volume jump protection' in the AGC. But.. Looking at what it does it seems to affect a lot more than just bursts, so I'm not too sure how useful it is.

What it does (and remember it's disabled by default)
- Performs normal compression -> results in level A
- Performs compression with Attack set to 1 ms -> results in level B
- Takes the MINIMUM of (level A) and (level B * Loud burst Ratio). So normally you get level A, but when there's a loud burst it will switch to B (multiplied by this ratio setting).

I tested this with singleband compression and it worked really really well. But with multiband it appears to be less good - not sure yet why (could be related to settings).

Is this related to what you wrote on Facebook? ;)

If so, isn't the equalizer usable for this?
