Nice work hvz! Thanks a lot!

But what do you recommend me as settings for the new basslimiter and the rest (equalizer, etc) according to my music genre? (you could find some example songs in one of my earlier posts in this topic)

Thanks in advance again!

Karl

Is it working then? I was doing some tests and getting the impression that this version is more or less identical to the original 4.10 version...

I have made another new update that I'll post in a moment, it has a bit more bass distortion again, but the highs sounds cleaner again - and if you don't push it too much, the bass should sound good.

About settings: Set the "Allow louder lows" to around +4000, the new filter frequency slider can probably be set around 120 Hz. For now, leave the Bass Limit Level slider at its default value (in the next version that I'll post in a moment you can - and should - set it higher).

Then up the bass a bit using the equalizer. Or by increasing the "soft limit" values for the bass bands and maybe increase the output volume of the lowest band of the Pre Limiter.

The setting i found is 120Hz and 75% over transmitter.
Because i don't need bass that much .. "ALL" is at 0 .. but i 40Hz and 90Hz in EQ is little up.

So now i have a bit more overall bass (low bass) but no distortion.

Hans i have one question .. "this basslimiter" with 0-100% slider is realy limiter or more like filter?
tnx

For some reason I cannot compile the software anymore (entire pc hangs during compilation, all I can do is reboot...). I'll look into it tomorrow - I think I have some ideas to improve the sound but they'll have to wait a bit :-( If things work the way I expect them to, I should be able to add an extra slider with which you can slide between bad bass (although nowhere near as bad as it was before) and bad highs.

*note to self*: Filter in 2 steps instead of 1, 1st step less strict (make it configurable) -> this should make the bass sound a lot better without hurting the rest of the sound too much.

Bojcha: It's not a normal limiter but something close to it.

Winamp version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... ebass1.dll

But there's something wrong with this version, I've ran some more tests and there is more bass distortion here than there should be (There is a bug in the software somewhere). So don't run tests with this yet unless you're really curious... I'll look into it and try to fix it and add the stand alone version tonight.

If you're not using very loud bass, this version might already sound better than the previous one though.

Winamp version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 091002.dll
Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/radio_tool_SA.exe

Changes:
- Bass now always sounds good, also if it's very loud.
- Added a "bass square shape" slider, but it's not really working very well (you can use it to boost the bass a bit more, but I think there are better shapes that cause less distortion.) Don't set it about 40 or 50%.

Unfortunately I still hear some distortion that isn't present in the original 4.10 version (with the "allow louder bass" slider set to 0). There may be a solution for it, but I'll have to look into it in more detail...

Stand alone version is there now too!

Apparently Windows had decided to compress some files on my system... And due to that the compiler locked up completely. So I uncompressed those files, and now it's working again. :?
