By the way, the Stereo Tool declipper won't cause any extra latency :P - it runs in the latency that is already there for the rest of the processing.

New idea: EXPANDER filter PER SAMPLE. Exact opposite of clipping. Will also cause similar artifacts as clipping. But that means I can also filter them out as I do for Loudness... Might be worth a test! (And can be done in a few hours).

And the good news is: This will affect compressed audio MUCH more than 'natural' audio.

(This is NOT a declipping filter, but a dynamics boost filter, which I expect to boost the dynamics of compressed audio way more than of not compressed audio).

This is probably not as good as the idea I had before, but it's so much simpler that I really want to try it out first.

Interesting to check: 1. Run extreme phase rotation 2. make actual histogram match phase rotated histogram (maybe boost difference to twice as much).

Works! And sounds quite good too! (And I haven't even made it content-dependent yet!)

Edit: Hm. Only works on bass sounds. Still, the effect on the total audio is really good. Will post new beta later tonight.
