Reduced GUI CPU usage (mainly for waveforms and MPX) Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 33-028.exe Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 33-028.exe VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 33-028.dll CPU usage is still a bit higher than for 6.32 but not so much anymore. Measurement results: - Small screen: Both process 1:02 in 30 seconds. - Big screen: 6.32 processes 55 seconds. BETA027 processed 44 (!) and BETA028 now reaches 52. TODO: - Optimize text display code (place_zoomed_text, using LUT, similar to scopes) - Fix button click behavior (button must be deactivated, focus must be restored when closing registration window) - Vertical volume bar showed 32 dB instead of 30 - Too big spaces removed - 2 rows visible at height 768 - Left menu changed; separated Configuration from Processing and moved both to top level. Question: Should I move Configuration to the bottom?? Or even move the one that's not active to the bottom? - Left menu maximum width reduced - Changed width of MPX signal display - BS412 display updates did not always occur in the BS412 panel. - PHASE ROTATION BROKEN AT LATENCY 512/1024 - Clean up button bar (remove some things and move to Configuration view?) - What to do with FM settings? Move to config? - Check crash in command line version (in Enabled refresh function - probably related to loaded parameters - is that even possible? Cannot reproduce it anymore...) - Pull-down scroll bar appears when it's not needed - After scrolling with scroll bar, mouse hover doesn't work anymore - Implement mouse wheel and cursor keys for sliders - And a warning in the buttons bar if unregistered options are in use, or change 'Register' button color. - Display last loaded preset name, if possible also with whether it has been changed and keeping it on restart - Same for new version alerts. I think I can put both between the buttons in the button bar if the screen is wide enough, if not I can put it above the button bar in the section above it isn't too big. Not sure if that's a good idea though, maybe I need to do something else instead (for example combine buttons such as Help and About if the screen isn't wide enough). Less urgent for usability: - Design (several people are working on something) For later: - Multi-language support - Add basic/advanced modes - Add '-6' '-12' etc. beside output bars where possible. - Context sensitive Help (help button should be next to the preset buttons) - Drag (resize window parts) lines, also between to/bottom part (scopes/meters). |

Hans , reported issue fot the "Register"-> Cancel just work OK in the latest beta 28 Also RDS RT text fixed space between rows. Bojcha , You may make the yellow end of your Output indicator more slim ? Just few pixels. This is only suggestion |

Actually, there IS bug there. Clicking on "cancel" after clicking "Register" focus to last used window which may not be ST window. Also RDS RT text fixed space between rows. - Open ST - Click on any other window, for example, browser (ff, opera, ie, chrome...) - while ST window now is not in focus click "register" then "Cancel" It'll back to browser window. I think that yellow must be removed. I just realized that it;'s not same in Vertical and horizontal mode. At horizontal is good. it uses one last block (like -1dB), which is supposed to be the idea, but in vertical makes more then 1 block, depend on main window size.- Less space between 2 bottom rows http://i.imgur.com/bGtZj.png - In full screen of resolution 1024x768 would be nice to have 2 botom rows visble. (for 800x600 there is not space for that) - It might be goot idea to place "configuration" on top above "main", always visible and maybe with different color/font... there can be "help, register, cpu, plug-in, Scheduler, web interface, etc.. things. - In main menu, longest text is "Singleband Compressor", and most wide that manu should not go more then that text. http://i.imgur.com/hQnAX.png ... |

Not here... I tried in XP and Win7, and in both cases *no* window is active after I press cancel. What would the correct behavior be? Should I claim focus on the mail window when you hit Cancel? The current behavior *should* be what Windows does if a program does not interfere. (The buttons also stay pressed - that IS a bug and should be fixed). Claiming focus on CANCEL now, and buttons released.- Open ST - Click on any other window, for example, browser (ff, opera, ie, chrome...) - while ST window now is not in focus click "register" then "Cancel" It'll back to browser window. Vertical bar was showing 32 dB instead of 30, that's why it didn't fit. I'll fix that and check if the yellow bit is one block in size. FIXED, still 1 pixel below the darker line is sometimes also yellow.Quote: - Less space between 2 bottom rows http://i.imgur.com/bGtZj.png http://i.imgur.com/4X18X.png
Doesn't everything get too tight then? You only get 2 rows if the screen isn't too small in the first place. FIXED: Was a bug that was causing gaps in many locations. They should all be gone now.Quote: - In full screen of resolution 1024x768 would be nice to have 2 botom rows visble. (for 800x600 there is not space for that)
Ah, good one. I guess I must make both rows a bit smaller in that case. - DONE, also better behavior if the display is very wide.Quote: - It might be goot idea to place "configuration" on top above "main", always visible and maybe with different color/font...
You mean to have 2 top levels, not just Main but also Configuration? Or maybe even Configuration and Processing... Where should I place FM transmitter???there can be "help, register, cpu, plug-in, Scheduler, web interface, etc.. things. Bottom bar would get smaller that way (only Reset, Load, Save, Preset, current preset name (!), Bypass). Sounds like a good idea! Quote: - In main menu, longest text is "Singleband Compressor", and most wide that manu should not go more then that text. http://i.imgur.com/hQnAX.png
By default it doesn't; but I can reduce the maximum size. DONE.

Btw - some remarks about the current skin, Bojcha and others please respond... The AGC normal color is orange, and when it kicks down very hard it's bright blueish. My idea is that orange (and stronger, red) shows potential problems. So the bottom of MB is red - that's good, you don't want to get this deep. The clipper is orange, which is also good - it shows how much sound is removed and hence how much the sound changes. Although maybe it shouldn't be orange near the top... But we don't want too many different colors either. So for the AGC I would suggest at least a different color for sudden reductions - red. Not sure if the rest should be orange - there's nothing wrong with the AGC at any level. Or actually, if it stays near the top it's kinda dangerous - level control might not be good because you're not hitting the AGC all the time. For noise gate, if it stays at very low levels all the time it's bad. Also, things get removed - that's why I made it orange in my preset. Even though it's not really a warning - if there's a lot of it all of the time it does really indicate a problem. The declipper meters are currently red - while they are actually showing that something good is happening. So in short, I think the colors in the meters must have a meaning. |
