As a matter of fact, i change the Punch to clean and the opposite and the Max Punch at +60 or +200 and i did nt hear any diff.... I am confused.... Maybe i was waitting more Bass, or i become deaf practising ![]() Anyway, no i dont think i need it for Highs. Highs means above 1Khz ??? right?? One more question... When i BassBoost, the final sound is limiting again?? or goes straight to output ?? Thanks! |

Hi Cris bass boost is before limiter and loudness, so with "clip at" is all limited at same level .. just boosted. This is good, because now is safer to boost/clip bass more. "Clip at" is there to ensure the required level. |

I seem found settings without distortion at voice and lot of bass and decently loudness. |

I've made the bass clipping dynamic depending on the high frequency content. Note: For best results, change the phase limiter settings as follows: Start freq 700 must be around 120 or 240. (If you don't do this, you'll probably need to increase the 'feedback strength', which means that you'll loose more bass). In Loudness, keeping 'Improved loudness distortion protection' and 'Very deep bass distortion protection' enabled also slightly improves the sound quality. For FM transmitters: Loud 'S' sounds are reducing other frequencies too much now, this will be fixed asap (the 'highs burst' filter doesn't work properly at the moment; I might also need to re-enable the filter that boosts the lows a bit when loud 'S' sounds are present but that would also mean an increased chance at distortion). New version is building now... |

See previous post for a description of this version. In short, for best results: - Phase Limiter: Lower Start freq to around 120-240. - Loudness: Set 'Allow louder lows' to +10000, enable 'Improved loudness distortion protection' and 'Very deep bass distortion protection'. Winamp DSP plugin: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 510-39.exe Stand alone version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 510-39.exe VST version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 510-39.dll VST version (No SSE2): http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 510-39.dll Command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 510-39.exe Linux command line version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... BETA510-39 (not built) Linux GUI version: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... BETA510-39 (not built) Edit: 'Clip highs feedback strength' sounds better at 80% than at the default level of 60%. Unfortunately, I just compared this version against an older version (before the Loudness improvement) and the bass level is now actually LOWER than before....... (At least for this 'Mina' song which does have a lot of very low bass, it might be less bad for other tracks). That's with my default settings, maybe some changes in the settings can fix this (making the 'very low' frequency range smaller would help, reducing the feedback strength or (less) the maximum feedback help as well.) Currently I only lower the lows if the highs are very loud, but not the opposite... Maybe I should do that as well. Edit: After some thinking I'm going to check if I can detect when voice vibrations occur. If I can do that, I can reduce the bass ONLY when needed. --> Edit: Seems to work! Will continue tomorrow. Edit: Another solution would be to use an offset - only reduce bass if the highs get above level X. That seemed to work very well when I tested it a few days ago, and has far less effect on the bass. |

That's good --> Edit: Seems to work! Will continue tomorrow. ![]() but.. In this beta Bas is not clipped anymore!? "Clip at" not working at all !? Again lows have peeks to 100% I see that reaction on highs work nice. |

It does do something - even if there's just a little sound on the highs the clipping is dropped to the 'clip at' level.I see that reaction on highs work nice. Isn't the bass level too low now? In the song you sent me ('Mina04voice') the bass level in the output is MUCH lower than in older BETA's - indeed the voice vibrations are nearly gone now. |
