Stand alone: http://www.stereotool.com/download/ster ... 04-038.exe
Winamp DSP: http://www.stereotool.com/download/dsp_ ... 04-038.exe
VST: http://www.stereotool.com/download/vst_ ... 04-038.dll

The user interface was getting bigger and bigger, and more difficult to use for new users. So I had to do something - and I did: I divided all the parameters into 5 different levels. (I have not done the compressors yet). Feedback about the usability and division is very welcome! (Please keep in mind I went through nearly 500 parameters today so I may have misplaced a few).

- User interface now has 5 modes:
--> Simple - very course and simple settings (on/off, and level, for most filters)
--> Basic - enough for most users, default mode
--> Advanced
--> Expert
--> Extreme Tweaking - things like controlling multiband frequencies and steepness per band etc.
- Added ability to listen to separate multiband bands
- Fixed PhantomFM's Big O V2 preset
- If the new - singleband or multiband - compressors are enabled the old ones are removed from the GUI.
- I *may* have fixed the reported hangup when changing multiband bands - at the very least I improved the code.

Nice job! :lol:

I think it's very helpfull for the most people who use ST for home listening.

When using the monitor option for the lowest band (bass) there is still "blop blop" effect like when you use bass boost and hit on "difference" . looks like there is no enough Q-factor of the filter .... it`s important for the bass quality to look into it. And i hear it only on the lowest band ...second one does not have it. When i use the bandpass to cut out the all except the bass , this is not present. But when use the boost with"diff" and monitor .. this effect is there ?!?! I don`t understand this one.

Bug: After putting the new multiband on and off for 6-10x the number of bands decreases to 1.

Question about new Multiband behavior.

What should be done when you change the number of bands? All the settings (freq, steepness, but also attack, release, ratio, threshold etc.) depend on the frequency content of a band. So, what should happen if you change the number of bands?

1 - Completely separate set of settings for each number of bands. Disadvantage: If you want to add an extra band, you need to build all the settings from scratch.
2 - Keep the available data. Disadvantage: If you change the number of bands and don't do anything else you may get a really weird and bad sound.
3 - Any other ideas?

Option '1' makes sense for Simple mode behavior - you choose more bands, and you automatically get the behavior that matches that number of bands. But: That also means that each preset needs to support any number of bands, OR that the number of bands can not be changed in Simple mode.

Option '2' seems easiest for when you're editing: You discover that you need an extra band for the high frequencies, so you just add one, and you keep the settings for all the other bands.

So far unable to reproduce this one. Let's see if it still occurs when the code is finished, I'm still changing many things.

Maybe I say something wrong, but I think 6 bands is enough. At the big processors you can choose sometimes 2 bands in stead of the maximum bands. Nothing between that (as far as I have seen). I think put it to 6 and no errors any more of using less... Also better for the presets to have the same amount of bands.
